INSULATION

had very good personal relationships with merchant customers that carried Superglass though even the toughest times. That was based on our ability and, indeed, willingness, at the factory to manufacture specific products on short turnaround. So, as we develop the company, our aim is to hold onto those elements of our brands, thus further developing loyalty and bonding with the customer base.”

Munro says that Superglass has now gone from having an aging infrastructure and one

of the oldest plants to one of the newest, most advanced facilities anywhere. “That’s really encouraging and one of the most marked changes has been from a quality perspective. This is significantly enhanced with the investment. It allows us to ramp up to full production, doubling capacity. It allows us to satisfy the demand from the widest range of customers. Plus, alongside the investment in our plant, we have completed a very significant investment adjacent to our site in a new logistics and storage capability.

“This allows us to store all of our production on our own facilities, without having to use any external sites or warehousing. It’s created a volume capability, a quality capability, a logistics capability that now keeps us truly in the premier division of manufacturers.

“We are transforming from a company that was surviving to a company that is winning awards and being recognised for engineering excellence, production excellence, service excellence. It’s really exciting.” BMJ
