JTD MAKES FIRST H&B DEVELOPMENT GROUP LEAP


Merchant buying group h&b has announced the first of its members to move from the development group into the main arena. Fiona Russell Horne went to find out how it is all working out.

ince launching in April 2018, the h&b development group has progressed very positively in that time, says director Allan Durning “We have 11 ‘live’ members to date, engaging with the 120 suppliers on a separate portal to the main h&b group. That’s so that we have a clear distinction between the two parts of h&b.” Durning says that suppliers have been very supportive of the project, offering encouragement and a level of support that the smaller merchants who make up the development group probably members weren’t getting when they were standing alone outside the buying group. “We are enabling these members to grow their businesses,” he continues. “At the end of the day, this is about buying better and building a merchant’s business to the point
