Geocel teams up with DIY SOS’s Julian to set the standard on sealants
Geocel has announced a partnership with popular builder and TV personality, Julian Perryman to highlight a number of its product campaigns as well the work it is doing for the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity. A video series, ‘Setting the Standard with Julian Perryman’, promoted across Geocel’s social

Perryman interviewed Bill Hill, CEO of the Lighthouse Club on behalf of Geocel, to find out about the support it offers to construction workers and their families. Perryman, a regular on BBC TV’s DIY SOS, said: “I am delighted to be working with Geocel over the coming year on a number of its upcoming projects. I am enjoying

Merchants go the extra mile for mental health
Two major merchant chains have signed up to support mental health. Bradfords Building Supplies has set staff a 10,000-mile challenge to mark this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week (11-16 May), while Jewson is aiming to help employees improve their wellbeing and positive mental health via a partnership with SIX Mental Health Solutions – founded by former England and Arsenal captain, Tony Adams.
The Bradfords team had a month to cover the individual distances they set themselves, finishing on 16 May, the final day of the awareness week. Collectively, they aim to reach or exceed their 10,000-mile target and raise at least £10,000 for Mental Health UK in the process. The idea was suggested by Bradfords’ team members Dean
Gerrans, branch manager at the company’s Redruth site and Sam White, who leads the key accounts team in Plympton. Both aim to cover 400 miles each during the course of the challenge. Gerrans says: “My best friend and army colleague was tragically killed in front of me in Iraq in 2006. This left a lasting impact that I was still struggling with 10 years later. In 2015, I worked with a local mental health agency, Outlook South West. The support I got was invaluable, and so I’m so pleased that with my fellow Bradfords colleagues I can now help others.” Jewson’s work with SIX MHS will provide Jewson employees with a range of services designed to improve their wellbeing and encourage positive mental health. These include a 24/7 confidential

The funds raised will go towards the Zoë’s Place ‘Pay for a Day’ campaign, where Triton has pledged to raise £3,300 to cover the approximate costs for a day of care. Triton is one of the first companies to pledge its support for the project, which was founded after Zoë’s Place was forced to reduce its service from seven to around four days per week as a result of the first national lockdown.
Tina Simpson, marketing director at Triton Showers said: “Our ongoing connection with Zoë’s Place is extremely important
Jewson helpline, a national network of counsellors, a series of educational seminars and residential treatment for those who suffer from addictive disorders. Patrick Kent, HR Director at Jewson, said: “Whether at work or at home the wellbeing of our colleagues is and always has been, extremely important to us. Now as we emerge from lockdown, additional challenges are emerging that only underline the importance of having a variety of resources in place that support colleagues to get help when they most need it.” Set up by former England footballer, Adams, who himself has battled with addiction, SIX MHS is a private and confidential external organisation which aims to improve the wellbeing of a company’s workforce.
Adams
said: “We are delighted to be working with Jewson. The company’s positive attitude towards helping its staff is so
refreshing and marks them out as an industry leader. We are looking forward to a long and fruitful relationship. I started SIX MHS because a lot of people were contacting me for help who were outside of the sporting world and I didn’t know where to send them. Now, I can provide the services myself and I know that people are getting the best support on offer. SIX MHS mentally and emotionally supports every part of the person’s recovery.”
to everyone in the organisation, so we are always looking for interesting activities that the whole team can get involved with.” Tanita Mistry, Corporate
