2. Sika Everbuild ups recycled packaging content
Sika Everbuild is increasing the sustainability of its packaging by using repurposed or recycled plastic across its core product range. The company is aiming to reduce its use of virgin plastic by embarking on a mass roll-out of new, more sustainable packaging which it anticipates will save more than 400 tonnes of virgin plastic this year alone. The first phase focuses on some of Sika Everbuild’s most popular products, including its Stixall adhesive and Fastfix jointing compound, with a view to converting the packaging across more product ranges in due course. Customers will be able to easily identify the new packaging thanks to its dark grey colour.
Sika Everbuild has also invested heavily in the sourcing and testing of the new packaging to ensure that the storage, usability and performance of its products continue to meet the highest standards. The new new packaging will be manufactured using a minimum content of 30% post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic, and the manufacturer is continuing to develop its packaging solutions, working with suppliers to increase this percentage in the future. 3. JB Kind’s new Door Collection Alongside the launch of the 2022 Door Collection brochure with its partner online flipbook, JB Kind has also revised its Trade Essentials brochure.
JB Kind’s Urban Industrial range now offers eight alternative door designs, joining its City design and Metro doors.
The new six panel Civic and 10 panel Plaza designs are both on offer pre-finished in black and white. The designs are made with solid lock blocks and individual glass panes, so do not require specialist ironmongery.
1. Makita ML006G LED Flashlights The ML006G flashlight features 18 extra bright LEDs that can deliver up to 500 lumens (depending on the setting chosen). The light diffusing lens softens the LED light to prevent glare and provide widespread illumination. Moreover, the ML006G offers 82 hours of continuous illumination (when used in low mode) and the flashlight head can be easily adjusted.
For ease, the ML006G features a battery capacity warning system. It is also compact, lightweight, has an ergonomic design and rubberised soft grip, making it easy to transport. Also new is the DX15 ‘On-Tool’ Dust Collection System (191X40-4), compatible with Makita’s XGT 40VMax HR007GZ Rotary Hammer, the DX15 makes dust collection a breeze. It can be used with drill bits up to 260mm and the depth gauge can be effortlessly adjusted. Thanks to the inclusion of a HEPA filter, the DX15 can capture even fine particles for maximum user safety – and the filter can be easily cleaned to ensure longevity.
