Mad March Million for the Rainy Day Trust

Industry charity The Rainy Day Trust is hoping to combine fund- raising with getting its supporters a little bit fitter during March. CEO Bryan Clover says: “We wanted to inject a bit of fun while still getting our message out there that we urgently need funds. You don’t have to be a mad March hare to take part in the RDT Mad March Million. Just a small team

together at work, or maybe family and friends, and walk or run, hop, skip or jump 1 million steps in March.” Teams are recording their steps each day and keeping the charity up to date via bryan@ rainydaytrust.org.uk. Currently leading the pack is the team from Mannok, with NBG in hot pursuit. Also taking part are PR

Direct, Max Publishing and even the BMJ team, under the umbrella of sister publication Housewares Magazine.

“So we will publish a regular leader board of steppers and make sure that your team or business get their name out there for all to see. Remember, if you need us, we are here, if you don’t, we need you.”

Celebrating life with a charity skydive

Natalie Halford, wife of UK Doors & Windows Group’s Business Development & Marketing Director Steve Halford is throwing herself out of an aeroplane in June to raise money for a children’s cancer charity. Three years ago, she was diagnosed with cancer, and, happily celebrated two years in remission on September 26th 2020. Unbelievably, on that very same day the Halford’s daughter, Molly, who is nearly 17, was also diagnosed with a slightly different cancer. Thankfully, both have been given the all clear and are in full remission. During Molly’s treatment, the family received some great support from a wonderful little charity, Team Mikayla, which was set up to offer a few bright days to teenagers experiencing the challenges of chemotherapy and cancer. A simple objective exists; to provide wishes and Family Fun Days to the children and their families receiving cancer and leukemia treatment via the Kamran's ward in Oxfords John Radcliffe Hospital and Leicester Royal Infirmary. To support the charity, Natalie has committed to a charity sky dive, on June 26th.

Over £7,000 has been raised

so far, but anyone who wishes to donate can do so via the justgiving page: www.totalgiving.co.uk/ mypage/natsskydive
