RAINWATER MANAGEMENT

REVISITS CORE SUDS RANGE KINGSPAN KLARGESTER

Water management solutions manufacturer, Kingspan Klargester, is relaunching its SUDS product range under the AquaCore brand.

T

he Kingspan Klargester Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems range includes both water treatment and hydrocarbon separators, attenuation tanks,

rainwater harvesting systems, pumps and flow control devices.

A robust construction, in-built remote monitoring systems, plus the option of a comprehensive service and maintenance package, means the AquaCore products, where eligible*, are expected to meet the current criteria for adoption by water companies under the latest Design Construction Guidance introduced in April 2020.

There is growing demand from specifiers and developers for future-proofed flood management systems that can deliver the central tenets behind SuDS; improved water quality, water quantity, amenity value and biodiversity.

Flooding is becoming an annual occurrence in the UK affecting thousands of communities across the country, destroying livelihoods,

damaging properties, and tragically also claiming lives, according to Dave Vincent, Kingspan Klargester commercial director UK, Ireland, MEA and US. “As a result, architects and developers are being encouraged to include surface water management schemes as part of their project planning under the UK’s National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF).” Vincent says that Kingspan Klargester’s AquaCore products are high-quality solutions that can be fitted solus, or incorporated into SuDS Management Trains, to effectively manage water volumes and improve water quality. The range includes:

• AquaTreat surface water treatment separators and AquaOil bypass light liquid separators and full retention light liquid separators • AquaStore attenuation tanks for silt and debris management

• AquaHarvest rainwater harvesting systems (*note, rainwater harvesting systems per se are not eligible for adoption)

• AquaFlow water flow control device

• AquaPump to control the release of water on an application

AquaTreat, AquaOil and AquaPump, are equipped with Kingspan SmartServ Pro remote asset monitoring systems for effortless performance management. The systems were developed in line with Kingspan’s Planet Passionate initiative and provide end-users with email alerts of any servicing requirements or other potential issues.

“As soon as an order comes in from a merchant, our engineers get to work to create a suitable, reliable solution, in line with the project objectives, which will work alongside any other stormwater management techniques being employed on-site”, Vincent says. Our area sales managers are available to visit the site and provide bespoke advice, tailored to the individual – often complex - needs of each project. We have over 65 years of experience in water management so merchants can be sure that we will be able to give expert advice and deliver against the customer brief.” BMJ

BRETT MARTIN CASCADES INTO ABBEY REDEVELOPMENT

Brett Martin’s Cascade cast iron style rainwater system has been used in the transformation of a nineteenth century Grade II listed abbey into 47 two to five-bedroom luxury homes. Once home to the Holy Cross Abbey order of Cistercian Trappist nuns, the historic Stapehill Abbey near Wimbourne, Dorset, has undergone a restoration and conversion into 22 homes while a further 25 have been built in the grounds. Brett Martin’s Cascade Cast Iron Style Rainwater System comprising a 115mm Deepstyle Gutter and 68mm Round Downpipe in classic black was used to provide a high-capacity system which also matched the aesthetics of

cast iron, whilst offering all the benefits of plastic. The Cascade Deepstyle gutter system is characterised by an easy fix clip system, which facilitates simple installation, whilst external fixing lugs allow easy access for cordless power tools.

Significantly lighter than cast iron rainwater systems, Cascade is much quicker, easier and safer to install at a height, helping to offer the developer huge savings in terms of on-site installation costs. It comes in Classic Black and seven heritage colours: Anthracite Grey, Oxford Blue, Chartwell Green, Olive Green, Graphite Grey, Sandstone and Porcelain White.BMJ
