Taking retail businesses online is a central tenet of the CORE proposition, facilitating access to the same infor- mation from a mobile phone, tablet or laptop. It can be something as straight- forward as online access to a trade account to view recent purchases, or a business and delivering the same ex- perience a customer would get if they visited a store.
For Alan Hogan, managing director of Heat Merchants, the online order- ing was a key selling point. “It was designed to allow our customers to check availability of products or vital spare parts in any of our branches and reserve it for collection from their mobile phone, any time, any place,” he explained. “Our customers can plan their work schedule and rest assured
that the parts they need for the job are ready and waiting for them, saving them time and money.”
The system is designed to provide a seamless multi-channel experience, whether it’s in-store, online via a tab-
sales reps. A full accounts package, it also enables point-of-sale, online shop- ping, mobile commerce, loyalty cards, gift cards, handheld stock manage-
