Distributor PJH has added of 34 new delivery vehicles to its 130-strong fleet. 14 DAF XF tractor units and 20 7.5-tonne DAF LF box trucks join the distributor’s national transport network.
This multi-million-pound, multi-year deal investment is a part of PJH’s fleet renewal programme, ensuring state-of- the-art logistics support for its expanding business needs and reinforcing its commitment to sustainable delivery capabilities and exceptional ‘First Choice’ Customer Service.

As well as introducing the 34 new delivery vehicles, the refresh includes a further 21 vehicles due to be replaced later this year.
Tobermore appoints first board
UK & Ireland landscaping and construction materials manufacturer Tobermore has appointed its first board, in order to spearhead further expansion and growth. The board will sit above the company’s current senior leadership team to provide strategic direction, governance, and oversight, and will comprise David Henderson as managing director and chairman, plus general manager, Glenn Robinson, and Daniel Anderson, in an independent non-executive capacity.
Jewson Partnership Solutions (JPS) has launched AVAIL NOW, a new delivery service available from its Housing Hubs to help social housing providers improve first time fix rates and complete critical housing repairs more efficiently. JPS currently has two AVAIL Housing Hubs – which stock the products local housing providers require to complete repairs on their properties – in Leeds and Newcastle. As part of AVAIL NOW, any organisation working to repair and maintain social properties within the local area will either be able to use the AVAIL app or speak directly to the Hub to specify exactly what they need to complete a repair.

Cemex saves CO2 Global building materials solutions supplier Cemex has embarked on a renewable energy project at the company’s new Alrewas Readymix Plant (Pyford Brook) in Staffordshire, UK. The scheme which uses a 90kWh battery, along with solar panels, expects to save 200 tonnes of CO2. As part of Cemex’s company- wide climate action programme, ‘Future in Action’, the Alrewas site installed the hybrid solar unit in a bid to significantly reduce CO2 and the plant’s operational costs.
