AromaFresh II


Melitta has enhanced its AromaFresh range with the introduction of the new AromaFresh II filter coffee machine range. Nigel Morrison, consumer and trade marketing manager at Melitta UK, tells us more.


ver the past few decades, filter coffee has become more and more synonymous with specialty coffee culture.


Whether brewed with pour over devices or filter coffee machines, both of which we sell, it has been embraced by coffee shops and home coffee consumers alike. Consumers are now very discerning when it comes to filter coffee preparation in their homes and therefore want high quality coffee machines which are functional, practical and durable and also support their ‘at home’ lifestyle needs. We’re always monitoring the market to ensure we are responding to emerging trends and we’ve seen a big growth at the top end of the market recently, with premium offerings being snapped up by consumers so that’s currently where we’re focusing our range development, hence the launch of great products like the AromaFresh II. The Smeg EGF03 machine

he Smeg collection of appliances dedicated to coffee preparation has been expanded with the new espresso machine with an integrated coffee grinder, a must-have for true coffee connoisseurs.


For an even grind that preserves all the aromas, the integrated coffee grinder is equipped with stainless steel conical grinders that allow you to set the grind to a super-fine level. In addition, the possibility to remove the top grinder ensures convenient and thorough cleaning. The espresso machine lends itself to the possibility of customising drinks to suit every taste:


the presence of the control panel with dual menus makes it easy to manage preparation. From the main menu you can choose between two pre-set grind options, to prepare a single or double espresso, and two brewing options, to prepare one or two cups of coffee. From the settings menu you can select your preferred pre-infusion profile from four different profiles (short, standard, long, progressive pre-infusion) and from four extraction temperature levels, to make the coffee moment a real ritual.


The included accessories complete the coffee connoisseur experience: both non-pressurised


and pressurised filters, the milk carafe and various accessories for cleaning and maintaining the machine. The new Smeg machine with integrated coffee grinder not only incorporates the latest grinding and extraction technology, but also features a distinctive design born from the collaboration with deepdesign® studio of Matteo Bazzicalupo and Raffaella Mangiarotti. The machine is available in six colours: red, white, black and the unmistakable pastel colours cream, green and blue, perfectly matched with the rest of the Smeg small and major domestic appliances.
