Our two bestsellers are our iconic Picardie® and Gigogne® ranges. The Duralex® Le Gigogne® was the first product created by the brand in 1945 and with its authentic design, it is the perfect embodiment of a Duralex® cup. The recognisable design is available in tumblers of different capacities, in cups, bowls, salad bowls and we’ve just brought out a brand-new size, the 36Cl Gigogne, perfect for milkshakes, smoothies, juices and much more. Our iconic Picardie® range, created in 1954, includes a multitude of drinkware capacities, as well as a stunning tableware range. Known, all over the world as the ‘Original French Tumbler’, its unique curves and distinct bevelled lines, have made it a fixture on everyday tables, to the trendiest restaurants and even onto the big screen. The drinkware range includes glasses starting at 9cl capacity, perfect for small espresso shots, going up to 50 cl, for milkshakes, smoothies or even cocktails. Sizes in between include: 13cl; 16cl; 20cl; 25cl; 31cl and 36cl. All sizes come in the classic, transparent, tempered glass and some sizes, including the 25cl also come in eye-catching, mass tinted colours, Marine, Grey, Amber, Sapphire, Plum and Green. A frosted effect finish is perfect for barware or at home cocktails.
The consumer choice With money in ever short supply, consumers are looking for products that provide them with a taste of luxury without breaking the bank. As staying in and entertaining at home increases, we’ve seen people wanting to elevate and enhance their surroundings with smaller ticket products or ‘little luxuries’ with quantifiable benefits. Consumers look for design-led products, how they feel and fit with their surroundings – items that are noticeable in the home but are still good value for money. Shoppers are also far more conscious of what they’re buying, they
want to invest in quality products that not only look good, but are durable and long lasting, as well as the convenience of being heat resistant and dishwasher safe. While eco-credentials really do make a difference for shoppers, aesthetics are still just as important to them. People are searching for timeless designs and pops of colour to fit in with modern and stylish kitchens and dining spaces. This is why we introduced coloured glass, to suit different trends and times of the year. They’re also high-quality and mass tinted, so the colour runs right the way through the glass.
As we also see consumers moving back to entertaining and hosting, a nicely decorated table has become a big trend. There has also been a shift towards home bars and mixology, our Manhattan and Jazz designs fit perfectly with this theme - the Manhattan design reflects the New York skyline, while the Jazz takes inspiration from piano keys. Consumers are also starting to move towards stemless wine glasses such as our Gigogne, which fits comfortably in the hand without the fear of smashing or knocking it over.
