JENNY REVELLE Business Development Manager of Dinghams Cookshop in Salisbury & Winchester On the floor

What’s on your counter? The Euroscrubby Multi-Purpose cleaning scrubber from CKS. It flies out because of its versatility - and the funky designs make it a popular gift.

What’s keeping you busy? We are beginning to tap into the social media market as we understand the power behind it, as well as developing our website to reach customers who live further away from our stores. At our Salisbury store, we are utilising our first floor café to offer something different and more experiential in the city, such as our Supper Club. We have held two so far. Our third is planned

Tell us a bit about Dinghams Cookshop. Founded in 1982 by the Hardingham family, Dinghams is an independent family-run business, with two stores at 28 Market Place in Salisbury (Wiltshire) and 4 The Square in Winchester (Hampshire)

What’s your background? Until I joined Dinghams in February, I worked in the beauty industry for several years, most recently as a store manager in central London, before moving home to Salisbury. I report to director Rebecca Hardingham [a

younger member of the Hardingham family, who took over the business from her grandmother Ann Hardingham and her aunt Sarah, who are both now retired].

How would you describe your product mix? We stock predominately kitchenware, as well as diningware, electricals and home furnishings.

How do you find new products? To keep our product offerings fresh and unique, we attend trade shows to see what the latest trends and technology are out there.

What lines have you started stocking recently? We launched our Home Emporium, which offers lighting, furniture and soft furnishings, on the first floor of our Salisbury store in April.

What products are selling well at the moment? Tea and coffee accessories are always popular. We’ve also seen a peak in cake making and decorating equipment sales lately - lots of birthdays and weddings!

for August [Dinghams Summer Supper Club will take place on Saturday August 11 at 7pm] and we aim to do at least one a season, if not more. The Supper Club menu is created by brilliant

professional chefs based in Salisbury - Rachel & Becky of Talk Eat Laugh - who cook all the dishes fresh on the premises. It's an evening that's perfect for enjoying great food and drink and meeting new people with a shared love of food. Our Winchester branch does not have a cafe

but both stores hold regular demonstration sessions and masterclasses, hosted by suppliers or staff members, who show customers how to use certain products. For example, we held a Le Creuset demo day

in April, showing sweet and savoury baked goods in Le Creuset’s cast iron and toughened non-stick. Staff members have also used the Everhot cooker to show its versatility whilst using various pots, pans and utensils. And there have been various other ‘how to’ demos to show products, educate, create some delicious aromas in the shop and have a bit of
