Navigator introduces new Identifi cation for Press fi t fi ttings
H
eating and plumbing distributor Navigator continues to off er a range of quality products that off er installers and specifi ers ease of installation and peace of mind at competitive prices. The latest introduction is an innovative addition to their press fi t fi ttings range. The Kitemark and WRAS approved press fi t fi ttings range from Navigator has now been extended to include a number of larger sizes.
Sold as part of the
popular MB brand, the range has proved to be extremely popular with installers all over the UK, especially in situations where assemblies are required, but hot works are not appropriate or even allowed on site.
To further improve the product, the MB press fi t range for water now comes with a blue identifi cation ring. Once pressed, the ring simply drops off , so the installer knows at a glance if the complete assembly has been pressed correctly. Any un-pressed joints can be spotted immediately. Another innovation is the inclusion of the size of the fi tting on the
identifi cation ring, easy to spot and once again making life simpler for the installer.
The new products are available ex stock from Navigator’s network of trusted merchants. 01234 781234

Ideal Heating Commercial sails to success with Evomax2 at saling club
T
hree Evomax 2 120kW wall-mounted condensing boilers from Ideal Heating Commercial have been installed at Hayling Island Sailing Club in Hampshire, as part of an upgrade to the heating and hot water systems serving the main clubhouse’s busy shower facilities.
Building services contractor J&B Hopkins selected three Evomax 2 120kW boilers to be installed in cascade, delivering a total output of 360kW. The boilers are mounted on an Ideal Heating low height frame and header kit and installed with plate heat exchangers (PHEX) and preformed insulation kits for complete separation between the primary and secondary circuits. Highly effi cient, the Evomax 2 has up to 99.6% full load effi ciency and up to 110% part load effi ciency, can operate at up to 30° ∆T, and features a high turndown ratio of 5:1. At Hayling Island Sailing Club, the cascade setup provides resilience and ensures the heating and hot water system can meet the varying demands throughout the year – from quiet off -season periods to intense regatta days when up to 500 people may shower in a two-hour window.
J&B Hopkins also replaced the fl ue and upgraded the water system as part of the installation. Tony Stockton, mechanical project manager (technical services) at J&B Hopkins said: “The support we get from Ideal Heating Commercial is excellent – although we don’t often need it thanks to the boilers’ simplicity. Another big plus is product availability – we can always get the parts we need without delays.”
