Baxi hybrid heat pump solution comprising a Baxi Auriga HP 20T air source heat pump, cylinder and two Quinta Ace 115 kW boilers
on a cascade system has been installed at the training centre of facilities maintenance company Commercial Maintenance Services (CMS) Ltd in Gateshead to provide live heating and live training for the firm’s new headquarters. CMS Managing Director Nic Smith explained: “One of our main objectives with the new training academy was to help address the skills gap by training our engineers on the latest innovations, technologies and techniques. At the same time, we wanted to create a space where our clients could see for themselves the latest solutions and why we have aligned with companies like Baxi for over 20 years. And of course, on a practical level we also needed to ensure a reliable, energy efficient heating system for our building!” Hybrid heat pump solutions that combine
renewable ASHPs with gas boilers are often seen as an achievable early step on the decarbonisation roadmap for existing buildings. The solution CMS selected for their Training Academy combined an Auriga ASHP with two Quinta Ace boilers on cascade to meet peak demand. The Quinta Ace is the ultimate in
hybrid-ready boilers, programmable to work with solar thermal, biomass, buffer tanks and heat pump hybrid control systems for a sustainable, energy efficient solution.
