CaseStudy
Potterton Commercial’s Sirius three range of commercial boilers have been installed at Wentworth Woodhouse, to provide an efficient reliable heating system in the Grade I-listed stately home. Heating plays a vital role in protecting the fabric of historic buildings,
as well as helping create a comfortable internal environment. So, when the four ageing non-condensing boilers serving the house started to fail, the Wentworth Woodhouse estates team needed to find a rapid, affordable solution. Two Sirius three floor-standing 150 boilers, supplied with integrated plate heat ex-changers and boiler shunt pump kits were installed to achieve a total output of 300kW. A third boiler will be installed at a later date, to ensure optimum reliability of the service. The plate heat exchangers and additional filtration will protect the new boilers from any system contaminants for increased longevity, while ensuring optimal system performance and efficiency.
Nathan Briddock, mechanical divisional director at
NRC commented: “We were re-ally impressed with the Sirius three boilers and the support we received from Baxi Heating throughout the project.” Julie Readman, head of the Wentworth Woodhouse estates team, commented: “Both Baxi Heating and NRC did a great job with the installation and in ensuring that we achieved the most appropriate and cost-effective solution.” The estates team has fitted a gas meter to monitor fuel consumption
moving forward and is anticipating considerable carbon and energy savings. Ms Readman added: “The new Sirius three boilers are up and running and
providing an impressive amount of heat in our state rooms. “Even with just two boilers (300kW), we are getting more heat than we did with our old boilers. They are so much more efficient – we’re delighted.”
