Adveco celebrates 50 years of innovation

From supporting the laundrette industry to a leading commercial boiler specialist, Greg Brushett, UK sales manager of Adveco explores the company’s 50-year journey and some of its key selling points

Who is Adveco?

Adveco’s origins started in the support of the launderette industry, with a vision for increased efficiency and cost saving, utilising glass-lined boilers and galvanized hot water storage tanks. Fifty years later, the company is now the trusted specialist provider of low-carbon, bespoke hot water and heating to the building services industry. The company was founded as Advance Services (Sales)

Ltd in 1971 and was acknowledged by A.O. Smith as its sole UK distributor the following year. The company was later recognised by BSRIA as the instigator of direct gas-fired water heaters in the UK and through the next 27 years developed the market. Although A.O. Smith developed a multi distributors approach, it was seen that success would be through a single market entity and again Advanced Services Sales Ltd became A.O. Smith’s sole official partner in 1998. Under its new agreement it started trading as A.O. Smith Water Products, and then latterly as A.O. Smith Water Heaters (Adveco AWP) Ltd. As a public brand, Adveco Ltd was established in 2015 to act as an

independent sister company providing an expanded range of complementary products to enhance the company offering. In recent years Adveco has established European sales offices in the Netherlands and Belgium. Today, as an independently owned business, the company continues its commitment to the design, supply, commissioning and full after-sales support and maintenance servicing, of more than 1,000 commercial boiler, hot water and solar thermal systems every year. As we celebrate 50 years as a specialist in the design, supply and support of commercial hot water, heating and low carbon applications, we continue to unify the business under the singular Adveco name. The company has expanded the sales function with new satellite offices in Milton Keynes and is progressing exciting plans to modernise logistics. This will support an expanding supply chain with new refurbished facilities that will also extend our specialised manufacturing space to accommodate the growing demands for offsite construction.

Describe the range of products you offer?

As A.O. Smith Water Heaters transitions to become Adveco, the company continues to provide a full range of commercial gas and electric water heaters, boilers, and solar thermal systems from the A.O. Smith portfolio. Additionally, Adveco becomes a single point of contact for a wider range of commercial heating systems with our ranges of floor-standing and wall-hung gas boilers

A full range of Adveco heating products

(MD), carbon steel heating buffers (MSS), thermal storage (MST) and chilled water tanks (CWT). Our DHW offering has extended with a range of new stainless steel condensing water heaters to address soft water areas in the UK. This sits alongside our range of stainless steel cylinders, packaged plate heat exchangers and electric immersion kits which enables greater use of clean electricity for primary and backup heating of water across our range of bespoke tanks. Adveco also offers an ever-widening range of renewable and low carbon

technologies, beginning with a range of solar thermal collectors and indirect water heaters, the L70 air source heat pump (ASHP) introduced in late 2020 and the new FPi32 range of ASHPs which delivers considerable advances over its predecessor by leveraging the more environmentally friendly R32 refrigerant to great advantage. There is also the award recognised HR001 boxed heat recovery system which was designed and manufactured in-house. A large proportion of the systems and applications we create with this technology are bespoke and that includes our smart control systems. Bringing all these elements together is Adveco’s packaged plant room offering, a bespoke system build that leverages all the advantages of offsite construction. We operate across the commercial built environment, working with

consultants, specifiers and designers, providing informed support and partnership to design and deliver systems optimised to be highly efficient and cost-effective. For contractors we offer a single, versatile, specialist sales resource that ensures delivery of the most cost-effective system. Facility managers are supported through product remote monitoring, technical support, warranty and maintenance service to ensure system longevity and help realise low total cost of ownership. As a result, our systems can be found across the country, from prestige city sites

to university and school accommodations, hospitals and care homes, supermarkets, sports stadia, hotels, restaurants and leisure facilities of all sizes.
