compact footprint, making it easier and faster to improve heating efficiency in restricted spaces. This solution can incorporate a plate heat exchanger into the design to achieve
hydraulic separation between the primary and boiler circuits to optimise boiler performance and longevity. A bespoke pipework arrangement can also be produced, making this off-site heating technique the ultimate compact, time- saving, plug-and-play solution. There is additionally the opportunity to install any number of multiple Quinta
Ace wall-hung boilers on a rig unit. Depending on the available space, the designer can specify a preferred layout, such as in-line, back-to-back, ‘L’ shaped or any other type, and specify which header extensions and connections are used. As with the off-site cascade arrangement, a PHE can also be integrated to segregate the two circuits and protect the boilers from dirt and debris. The boilers are delivered to site on a wheeled rig unit, ready for rapid, easy
connection to the system. Project-specific controls can also be incorporated into the design.
Both solutions can be designed to split into smaller modules where access is particularly constrained, for simple re-connection into a single frame once in the plant room.
Controlled temperatures
Control is key to ensuring that maximum efficiencies and controlled temperatures are achieved on a daily basis. For this reason, it’s important to ensure that the correct boiler and system controls are in place. For instance, our new Ace controls platform includes onboard time and temperature control as standard, plus a user-friendly interface for straightforward programming, commissioning and servicing. It can also be connected directly to the building management system at no extra cost, to help keep the budget on track. Weather compensation, system optimisation, sequencing and zoning control will further improve boiler and system performance.
Flues and noise levels
When replacing non-condensing boilers with condensing boiler models, flueing may be a further factor for consideration. For this reason, it is advisable to consider boilers with multiple flueing options. If a cascade option is chosen, a fluecade system, provided complete with all associated products, will ensure straightforward installation. Finally, low noise is a frequent requirement, from office spaces and schools to museums and churches, so check that the boilers offer quiet operation.
Protecting our past
Listed buildings
As environmental regulations tighten, urgent action is required to improve the energy and carbon performance of our historic and listed buildings. High-efficiency, ultra-low NOx condensing boilers offer a practical,
