Pushing filtration in commercial systems

Describe your products/services

ADEY’s headquarters in Cheltenham Who is ADEY?

ADEY created a marketplace with the launch of MagnaClean magnetic filtration technology more than 15 years ago. Designed for domestic heating systems, these filters are now installed in more than five million homes.

The adoption of this technology in the

commercial sector has been less rapid, with older, less effective tech still being used. Our mission, as part of our newly created commercial division, is to educate our customers about the importance of magnetic filtration in helping to remove the damaging black iron oxide sludge that builds up and circulates around heating systems causing them to work less efficiently. Our experienced team understands how commercial systems work, which means we can provide valuable insight into the best ways to improve system performance. Our core market is in the UK as this is where

ADEY started, and where the current HQ is situated, but we have also established a strong presence across Europe in 18 countries including France, the DACH region and Poland. Due to demand we are also hoping to expand further across Europe.

Our product portfolio caters for systems of all sizes with the MagnaClean Commercial filters available in 2”, 3”, 4”, 6” and 8” versions. These are supported by the MagnaClean DualXP bridging filter which is suitable for light commercial systems and the new MagnaClean DRX which is available in 2”, 2.5”, 3” and 4” options and is ideal for use in smaller spaces. The DRX recently won a major industry award. Our range of premium chemicals has been designed to work hand in hand with our filters to provide the very best protection for commercial heating systems. With a growing emphasis placed on water

quality, the introduction of our commercial water testing service last year has been hugely successful. At our UKAS accredited R&D lab in Sittingbourne, Kent, we offer the chemical analysis of process water samples from heating systems, helping ensure compliance with the latest BSRIA guidance for Closed Heating and Cooling Systems under UKAS ISO 17025. More recently, the scope of this accreditation has been extended to include microbiology and Legionella testing. Offering the full scope of UKAS accredited services for closed system analysis illustrates the emphasis ADEY places not just on its products but on providing a service that has been specifically developed to address customer needs. We have always viewed ourselves as

innovators and leaders in the marketplace. All

of our products have been developed with meticulous R&D, and we are currently working on innovating what are typically considered traditional water treatment products to complement the range. Our aim is to provide a total solution that isn’t just about products but ensuring the health of commercial heating systems is protected for the long term.

Which of your products/services are in high demand?

While the adoption of magnetic filtration technology has been slower in the commercial sector, the proven benefits of installing our filters are being seen across a range of different system types from hospitals to schools, and care homes to hotels. This is helping to drive demand as people switch on to the benefits. We also pride ourselves in developing a portfolio of products rather than taking a one size fits all approach. We understand that there are different system types and a variety of problems that engineers face so it’s about finding the best solution.

This might mean using a number

of different products together as well as taking advice from our knowledgeable team. Water quality is also hugely

significant. Our commercial water testing service is continuing to grow as engineers look for a fast and reliable way to
