Editor’s note W

Welcome to the March issue of ACR News

ith the recent release of the Climate Change Committee’s Carbon Budget 7 comes a renewed focus on heat pumps, with 450,000 installations needed by

2030 to keep us on track for Net Zero in 205. In theory, this is eminently doable, but there are questions over the practicality, and organisations

such as the HPA have asserted the need for strong leadership from the government to make it happen.

In other news, many challenges are involved in creating eff ective humidity control, including operational certainty, meeting stringent standards, and adhering to sustainability goals. Within these pages, Ranald Stewart of Klima-T erm explores these challenges and how emerging solutions address them. In the meantime, Simon Marshall of Humidity Solutions asks why industrial warehouses or facilities suff er from humidity and how it is controlled.

Condensers are key assets and deserve some TLC, says Aermec’s Andy Hawes, while Darren Lacroix of Energy Recovery looks at retrofi tting CO2 systems for warming climates, and Sophie Davenport of SFE Services discusses the importance of air management and temperature control in fi tness settings such as gyms and leisure centres. Lastly, Frascold has obtained UNI EN ISO 14001:2015 certifi cation, and three senior managers discuss what this means for the company, the improvements implemented, and the progress made. I hope you fi nd this issue informative and interesting,
