Star Refrigeration

Star Refrigeration has launched the latest generation of its award- winning Azanechiller, which continues to set an industry benchmark for effi ciency, safety, durability, and sustainability. The newly introduced Azanechiller 3.0

is an industrial air-cooled ammonia chiller designed to deliver superior performance and minimise environmental impact. Designed, built, and tested in the UK, Azanechiller 3.0 is built to exceeds the EcoDesign Regulation’s energy effi ciency requirement by up to 110%, consuming up to 52% less electricity than a standard-rated EcoDesign chiller to deliver the same cooling performance. The plug-and-play Azanechiller 3.0 range delivers cooling

across a wide temperature range of -20°C to +25°C, with capacities from 140kW to 1,600kW. Engineered with robust industrial components for increased reliability and longevity, the chiller suits various industries, including food production, pharmaceuticals, data centres, brewing, distilling, dairies, temperature-controlled storage, and ice rinks. The new model combines improved effi ciency, advanced safety features, and an extended lifespan of over 25 years, enabling businesses to future- proof operations, cut energy costs, and reduce carbon emissions. Azanechiller 3.0 is an environmentally responsible and future-

proof choice for companies aligning with Net Zero goals and ISO 14001 standards. The chiller is fully exempt from F-gas and PFAS regulations and has an ultra-low ammonia charge of 0.18kg/kW. It is engineered to optimise effi ciency across ambient temperatures of up to 40°C in order to withstand increasingly frequent extreme heatwaves driven by climate change. Engineered to maximise performance and minimise energy consumption, Azanechiller 3.0 incorporates IE4 motors, variable- speed reciprocating compressors, high-effi ciency EC condenser fans and close-approach heat exchangers, making it one of the most cost-eff ective and energy-effi cient cooling solutions on the market. The standard chiller package off ers an industrial solution featuring a galvanised steel base frame, stainless steel for the uninsulated pipework, stainless steel electrical control panel, condenser cleaning hatches and high-performance PIR rigid section insulation to improve longevity and durability.  https://tinyurl.com/Azanechiller03

Carel

From 17 to 21 March 2025, Carel will be exhibiting at ISH 2025, stand A61, hall 8, to continue to promote energy effi ciency and reductions in emissions and smart building management and technological innovation through the proposal of innovative, high-performance tools for a more sustainable future. Heat pumps are key in reducing CO₂ emissions in residential heating systems. Carel off ers an integrated system of advanced controllers, high- effi ciency inverters, and electronic expansion valves to optimise energy consumption and performance. Moreover, dedicated simulation software is available to create virtual models of real thermodynamic units in a digital environment, helping to reduce development times and minimise errors and malfunctions. To guarantee indoor air quality in buildings, Carel off ers energy

recovery solutions for air handling units, with thermal wheels, inverter-driven compressors, and advanced sensors that measure temperature, humidity and CO₂. Smart management systems reduce operating costs while at the same time improving comfort and effi ciency. Smart energy management in buildings requires open, scalable platforms and a centralised approach. The off ering presented by Kiona, a new Group company exhibiting for the fi rst time at the Carel stand, completes the proposals for managing services and energy in commercial and multi-residential buildings. Kiona’s software-as-a-service platform uses self-learning AI to streamline automation and reporting through a partnership that reinforces the Group’s commitment to providing integrated solutions for optimal building control. Carel will also present innovative new programming and simulation tools based on digital twin technology, revolutionising how HVAC/R applications are developed and tested. This approach opens up new perspectives for the optimisation and reliability of thermodynamic units, reducing costs and improving operational effi ciency. Finally, the new PYC mini controller introduces a higher

level of specialisation for the sector, off ering a compact yet high-performance solution ideal for HVAC applications where fl exibility, effi ciency, and integration with advanced systems are essential to meet market demands.
