rs are continuously on the lookout for ways to s to new flavour experiences. This is driven in part
by a customer with an adventurous modern palate, in part by the demand for healthy options, or even by diet preferences and intolerances.
Obesity rates and the government’s campaign to encourage healthier snacking habits may be one reason why there is a growing sector of the public looking for healthier options and also explains the expanding number of snacks that are lower in sugar, salt and fat. In addition, many of today’s healthy snacks are either suitable for vegans, diabetics, are free of allergens or perhaps even all of the above.
Some of those available from a vending machine include Eat Real’s plant based free from range which are free of 14 declarable allergens at 120 calories per pack;Walkers oven-baked vegetable- based healthier crisps; or Innate’s gluten, dairy, soy and refined sugar free squares – and that’s just to name a few.
Going from strength to strength in vending is Burts Snacks which since branching into vending in 2013 has added £0.5m to its business.
Sales and marketing director Simon Knight says: “Healthy eating continues to play an important role in consumers’ purchasing decisions, so it has never been more important for operators to a range of ‘Better For You’ vending products which tap into r demand for healthier alternatives.
