to experience the stunning design and sheer quality of Symphony’s latest furniture ranges than by visiting our 20,000sq ft Marketing Suite at our Barnsley headquarters.”

Symphony completes build of new 300,000sq ft extension of Barnsley factory

Symphony Group has completed the build of a new 300,000sq ft extension to its headquarters in Barnsley, Yorkshire, which takes the total area of the factory to over 800,000sq ft – equivalent to the size of 11 Premier League football pitches. The £30m investment in the new facility, which has been built alongside the existing

factory, secures Symphony’s plans for its continued expansion of product ranges, services, manufacturing capacity and storage over the medium term. It will also create a number of new employment opportunities for local people. On my last visit to Symphony, I was given an exclusive tour of the new facility, by Mr

Williamson, and it’s epic. I have no doubt that it will take the company’s manufacturing strength to the next level. Richard Bunton, managing director for Symphony Group, said: “Whilst the current economic

climate is uncertain, Symphony continues to look ahead, planning for the long term and future growth opportunities. “This investment demonstrates our commitment, confidence, and belief in both our business and the loyal customers we serve. Our focus is on delivering quality on-trend products backed by outstanding service and an ethical conscience – Symphony is a stalwart for the industry.” Looking ahead, I understand that Symphony customers can look forward to a number of

new ranges and product launches in 2024 to also include new kitchen cabinetry and worktops – all designed to meet popular trends and consumer demands.

traditional and modern kitchens, but it was really that traditional angle that we wanted. Having worked with German manufacturers, we had a lot of contemporary designs, but York people wanted traditional, and I think Symphony is very strong in that area.” The team from Herbert Todd & Son had a visit

to Symphony’s HQ in Barnsley, which included a tour of the Marketing Suite. “I think it’s very important that for us, as

retailers, that we go and explore what’s available, so that we can make sure that when customers come into our own stores, we can give them a great experience,” Mr Todd said. Symphony completed the shop fit, to make it as easy as possible. “Symphony brings its own personnel along because they insist that the standard of the fit it is done to the Symphony standard, which is something that we totally agreed with,” Mr Todd said. “It couldn’t be any easier; Symphony’s guys came in and did a perfect job. The attention that both Robert Williamson and Carl Smales have given to the business has been exemplary, and they are both very straightforward people to deal with.” Mr Todd continued: “From a professional standpoint, the fact that they’ve followed through with everything that they said they were going to do, just speaks volumes for me. “We’ve been promised deliveries by other companies that haven’t necessarily gone the way we’d want. I think, wholeheartedly, that with Symphony, we are in a safe pair of hands. And, for the manufacturer to deliver direct to site makes absolutely the most sense.”
