Feature: Outdoor Entertainment

Never miss a favourite Soap or Drama series

With a continuing increase of going away within the UK, long weekends, short and long stays, or simply staying at home in the garden, it appears there is also an increasing need for portable entertainment.

W

hilst there are several unrecognisable brands available

through certain online media, for this feature, IER have selected two reputable brands many are familiar with.

METZ Back in December 2025, German consumer electronics brand METZ introduced its 24MPE7002Z: a Full HD, portable, rechargeable smart streaming TV powered by the Google TV platform. Perfect for home or travel, this lightweight 24”

device is an easy-to-carry TV solution for taking away on camping or caravan holidays, as an entertainment centre for a guest room, or as an extra TV for a child’s bedroom. If the kids are spending too much screen time or staying up too late, it can easily be removed. Thanks to Google TV, the 24MPE7002Z

provides personalised access to a host of favourite streamed content from Netflix, Prime Video, Apple TV, Disney+ and YouTube, as well as 10,000+ apps, music, games and much more via Google Play. * Equipped with an anti-glare matte LED screen suitable for both indoor and outdoor viewing, this handy TV can be placed almost anywhere and is a great way to entertain the family when on holiday – whether camping or caravanning, or aboard a boat or yacht. With an internal rechargeable battery, it delivers more than three hours of uninterrupted viewing on one charge. Offering outstanding audio quality, the TV

features Dolby Digital Plus advanced surround sound technology. It has two front-firing 6W speakers providing exceptional performance. Full HD (1080p) resolution ensures a crisp and clear viewing experience. A built-in sleep timer ensures the TV will

automatically switch off after a pre-determined period, helping to save energy. The integrated carry handle, slim design and minimal weight of just 4kg make it easily transportable from one

location to another. The TV can be run via the mains or rechargeable battery – and for added flexibility and convenience, a 12V adapter has been built in to power the TV from a vehicle. It can also be charged using an external battery pack or power bank. Built on Google TV, this delivers an all-in- one seamless experience for discovering and personalising content across multiple streaming platforms like Netflix, Disney+, YouTube, Prime Video and Apple TV, plus access to 10,000+ apps via Google Play. Google TV enhances the entertainment

experience with curated recommendations based on viewing habits, offering access to favourite content in one place. With hands-free voice control via Google Assistant, users can search for movies, stream apps, play music and check the weather effortlessly. Child-friendly profiles ensure a safe viewing

environment with tailored recommendations and parental controls. Integration with Google Photos allows users to display and share cherished memories on their TV screens. Furthermore, Google Cast enables easy casting of movies, shows and photos directly from a smartphone to the TV. The TV comes with a two-year manufacturer’s

warranty. A protective carry case for the TV will be available for the TV at an SRP of £29.99 including VAT.

CELLO

Our second product to feature is from Cello Electronics, Britain’s only LED television manufacturer, unveiling the Voyager — the world’s first 12-volt Smart TV with a built-in 5G router — designed specifically for caravans, motorhomes, boats and off-grid living. Available in 22 inch and 24 inch screen sizes,

these are manufactured at the company’s County Durham facility. The Voyager combines connectivity,

entertainment and audio performance in a single compact unit. By integrating a 5G hub directly into the TV, it eliminates the need for separate MiFi devices, routers, additional cabling or campsite Wi-Fi — delivering a simpler, neater and more cost-effective solution for life on the move. Users can insert a 4FF SIM card directly into the

TV to create a secure, high-speed Wi-Fi 6 network for up to 32 devices, while also accessing live TV, streaming services and gaming apps — all from one device. With 5G connectivity built in, Voyager enables reliable access to content wherever there is mobile signal, without the need for aerials or satellite dishes. Building on Cello’s established ‘Trav’ range

of purpose-built 12V TVs — known for variable power input, wide-angle viewing and lightweight design — Voyager represents the next evolution, bringing fully integrated connectivity into the screen itself. Cello Electronics has been manufacturing

televisions in Bishop Auckland since 1996 and remains the only UK brand producing its LED TV range domestically. Every stage of production — from assembly through to testing — takes place in County Durham, a point of pride for customers in the leisure and marine sectors who value British- built reliability. Brian Palmer, Founder and CEO, said: “We’ve been making 12V TVs for the leisure industry for years, and we know this market inside out. Voyager is the next step. It’s the first 12V TV with a router built in, which means customers can do away with separate MiFi units, extra cabling and the complicated setups that have always come with watching TV on the road or on the water. We’ve designed and built it here in Bishop Auckland, and we’re incredibly proud of what the team has achieved.” Suzie Palmer, Marketing Director, added:

“We listened closely to our leisure customers. They loved their 12V TVs but struggled with complicated setups just to get connected. Voyager solves that. It’s a true all-in-one solution - just insert a SIM and you’re away. It’s simpler, cleaner and more cost-effective than buying a TV and router separately”.
