META Charity Golf Day celebrates another successful year
T
he Merseyside Electrical Trades Association (META) has once again delivered a successful Charity Golf Day, bringing together leading names from across the electrical industry in support of children’s charities including Claire House, Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, Zoe’s Place and the Electrical Industries Charity. This year’s event, held in July at Blundell’s Hill Golf Club, saw strong participation from manufacturers, wholesalers and buying groups. Teams from Hager, Marshall Tuffl ex, ProjectEV, Edmundson Electrical, independent wholesalers and, for the fi rst time, the IBA Buying Group all took part, refl ecting the growing reach and impact of the annual fundraiser. Team Winners: IBA Group (Captains: Andy Huddlestone & Carl Lee) Team Runners-Up: SED Liverpool (Captain: Marc Redfern) Individual Winner: Paul Hughes, Hager

New appointment to Recolight Board of Directors
R
ecolight has announced the appointment of a new director, David Barnwell, who will represent Holophane on the Recolight board: the fi rst time the company has held a seat on the board.
David is managing director of Holophane, brings over 30 years’ experience in the lighting industry. He also sits on the Board
of the Lighting Industry Association, having served as its president from 2024 to 2026.
David said: “I’m delighted to join the Recolight Board. Having spent my career developing and marketing lighting products, I understand how important it is that our industry takes responsibility for the whole lifecycle of what we make. I’m proud to represent Holophane on the Board, and I look forward to supporting Recolight’s work.” Recolight Chief Executive, Nigel Harvey said: “We are delighted to welcome David to our Board. His extensive experience in many diff erent aspects of the lighting industry will be of real benefi t as we develop our services for Producer Members.”
