IDEAL’s new 6mm² lever connector to support data centre and EV growth

deal Electrical is meeting that demand with the launch of its new 6mm² lever connector, a solution made to support quick and secure connections for 0.5mm² to 6.0mm² cable.
The connector accommodates solid, rigid- stranded and fl exible wires across two-port, three-port and fi ve-port confi gurations. Rated up to 41A and 450V with an ambient temperature tolerance of up to 85°C, it delivers the power capability required for data centre and EV installations while remaining versatile enough for residential, commercial and industrial applications. With electricians in high demand and a growing labour shortage across Europe, the 6mm² connector was designed with installer effi ciency fi rmly in mind. The lever mechanism features an optimised spring that requires less force to open than many competitive products, reducing hand strain across large installations where electricians may make thousands of connections. Ridged sides
further enhance grip and comfort.
For data centre projects that undergo rigorous inspection processes, the connector’s verifi cation features are particularly valuable. An audible ‘click’ confi rms that the lever is fully closed and the connection is secure, while a clear window in the translucent housing allows installers and inspectors to confi rm proper conductor insertion visually. A continuity check port provides an additional layer of assurance.
The lever connector is designed to be reusable, so electricians can easily remove the connector and correct any accidental splicing mistakes if needed. A built-in strip length guide shows the correct amount of insulation to remove from the conductor, supporting consistent, accurate installations across a job site. The connectors are also available to order in bulk, making them well- suited to the scale of large projects like data centre builds.
