Knightsbridge appoints Dave Dawkins as CEO K

Production starts at Schneider’s North Yorkshire manufacturing site

chneider Electric has offi cially opened its new state-of-the-art smart plant in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, with full site commissioning targeted by year end.
With Britain’s electricity needs expected to increase up to 40% by 2035, the plant is designed for long-term growth, producing the critical electrical equipment needed as the UK moves to cleaner energy.
UK production means faster, more fl exible delivery of bespoke engineering solutions, tailored to the unique needs of UK projects. Customers can visit the Scarborough site, collaborate directly with product designers and engineers, and ensure products fully meet their needs before moving into production. The UK
site will produce equipment to meet British standards, meaning they are export-ready for Commonwealth markets. The new facility will also signifi cantly boost the EV charging network in and around Scarborough, and the factory will also serve as a global blueprint for sustainable design and operations in manufacturing.
Europa and Mersen partner for surge protection training day

uropa, a leading UK distributor of electrical components and smart solutions, collaborated with Mersen, one of its key suppliers, to deliver a CPD-certifi ed training session focused on surge protection at Europa’s Luton head offi ce. Drawing on the knowledge of global electrical protection experts Naomi Cuff and Mark Griffi n from Mersen, the session provided in-depth insight into the importance, selection and installation of Mersen Surge-Trap Surge Protection Devices (SPDs) in line with industry standards.
The training is part of Europa’s ongoing commitment to technical excellence and professional development across the electrical industry, and comes as the company continues to expand its product portfolio with multiple new additions in 2025.
