software will become more popular and affordable as smart control evolves. When one can control their whole house from one app at an affordable price point, this is when it will just become standard specification in a home.
ProofVision is launching a range of new products to back up the success of its in-wall electric toothbrush charger. Can you tell me a bit about what this new range will include, and what makes the products stand out from other products on the market? We are indeed - we have a model with a built-in shaver socket, and a double version so you can charge two electric toothbrushes. A range of different finishes will be available. This range is truly to unique to ProofVision and patented.
You’ve also got a new outdoor TV casing launching later this year. With commercial and residential budgets dropping, how will this offer a cost-effective option for wholesalers and consumers alike? This product allows one to turn a normal TV you might have obsolete in the home or at work into an outdoor TV. The casing solution creates an exciting price point and we have made some great unique features to it. The units have a cooling and heating system inside the unit so you can replicate the temperature of being inside. Units are fully sealed with waterproof connectors for power, HDMI etc. The idea is that we can offer an outdoor solution to the market with RRP in the region of £600+VAT, whilst are current best value product on the market today is £1662.50+VAT.
How has COVID-19 affected your business? Looking ahead, how do you think it will affect the wider industry? Like many businesses, COVID-19 has affected product demand quite significantly, but we are seeing some light at the end of the tunnel now as we see people spending money in their back gardens or opening up businesses again. Like the rest of the world, we are adapting to our new environment and focusing on survival and envisioning the future. We have accessed the furlough scheme to help support the business and we have ramped up our product and system development, making sure we add a strong silver lining to the situation so that when we can return to some normality we can really make an impact. Our plans and visions stay the same, but our order of play has changed, and we will ensure our built-up energy from COVID restrictions is stored and ready to deliver when the market bounces back. Looking ahead, I suspect it will be a challenging environment for some time. The politicians and the news are looking at the whole economy - its important for all industries to focus on what is going on specifically with their industry and to be decisive as the market evolves.

What's been the most important industry lesson you have learned in your career so far? I would like to share a thought here that I have kept poignant in the front of my mind for several years and that has helped us really start to accelerate as a business. Henry Ford once said something along the lines of “surround yourself with people that know more than you.” One does not need to be able to do it all – one does need to know how to get the task at hand accomplished. Having a mentor, employees, sub-contractors that know more than you within their expertise is a smart way to do business.
What can the industry expect from Proof Vision in 2020 and beyond? ProofVision will always be expanding on its existing product ranges to ensure we offer the best possible technology to our customers. We will also move into new areas of product where waterproofing can add value.
