Margaret Fitzsimons, CEO at the EDA, said: “The ewnews.co.uk

EDATA data pool is one of the key pillars of the EDA’s work and we have experienced substantial growth since we launched in 2020. In October this year we sailed past the 200,000 SKUs live in EDATA but we never take our eyes off the ball when it comes to data quality. Wholesalers, and their contractor customers, depend on easy access to enriched product information to drive sales and today our Awards recognise the fantastic work that businesses of all sizes are putting in to supporting wholesaler businesses.” Richard Appleton, head of digitalisation at the EDA and board director at EDA Data Services added: “Getting product data right is not an easy or overnight job. The EDATA team at the EDA works with manufacturers of all shapes and sizes, and we are seeing increasing recognition that providing excellent product data is central to their service both to wholesalers and the sector as a whole. Today’s awards give us the opportunity to congratulate those businesses that are setting the standard for the sector.”

The EDA

Serving and representing the UK’s electrical wholesale sector for over 100 years, the Electrical Distributors’ Association (EDA) is a membership organisation for the UK’s electrical wholesale sector. Launched in 1914 as the Electrical Wholesalers’ Federation (EWF), the Association refocused and rebranded in 1998 as the EDA. Membership is available to wholesalers, whilst manufacturers can join as affi liated members.

EDA Data Services is an independent not-for-profi t business set up by the EDA to oversee the EDATA service. EDA Data Services’ independence means that manufacturers and wholesalers who are not members or affi liates of the EDA can use its services.
