ccording to a report from global market research company Market Research Future (MRFR), the global Outdoor Lighting Market size is set to reach $48.2bn by 2030, driven by the growing adoption of energy-efficient and affordable products and increasing government focus on energy conservation.
Currently, outdoor lighting is used to add aesthetic appeal and increase safety and security. Global industry players are expanding their market reach through the development of innovative solutions in outdoor lighting portfolio. Manufacturers of outdoor lighting systems provide various advanced solutions to the users with easy and smart control operation, better energy efficiency, and superior illumination with low power consumption.
Security is a key issue when it comes to exterior lighting. One of the most effective ways of protecting a property is with the installation of outdoor security lighting. Widely used as a means of protecting commercial premises, many householders now realise the benefits that security lighting can bring in their efforts to keep their homes secure. Whilst advisable to have
another method of security in place, such as an alarm system, the presence of lighting is enough to put off many would-be intruders.
Doorbell cameras
Security solutions provider ESP has a number of security lighting products that are both easy for installers to fit, and for end users to operate. The Aperta 2K (4MP) Wi-Fi Doorbell, for example, offers installers a higher specification, superior resolution product. With the typical resolution for video doorbells in the market currently at 1080p (2 megapixel), ESP’s 2K (4 megapixel) offer provides a key selling point for installers and end users.
The Aperta Wi-Fi doorbell connects directly to a smartphone, offering instant front door security and convenience to users. 2K (4MP) live view, visitor recording, automatic motion detection, and clear two-way audio are some of the key

features and ESP has maintained its subscription free status, with the new door station available via the ESP Smart 2K APP.
It will activate a notification to the user’s smartphone when the doorbell has been pressed. In the event that the user misses the notification, the event that triggered the notification can be recalled, as the doorbell has internal storage that will capture all activity subscription free. For additional security, the doorbell features motion and human detection features.
The camera offers a wide 170⁰ angle view to ensure good camera coverage. The doorbell also comes supplied with an angle bracket, which will not only assist with installation, but will help angle the camera to ensure it covers the area where visitors will be standing. As the doorbell requires a fixed power supply, users will not need to recharge or replace the batteries frequently as with some alternatives on the market.
Floodlight cameras
Smart security floodlight and spotlight cameras provide an ideal deterrent to unwanted activity. The Fort Wi-Fi Smart Security Floodlight with Camera and Spotlight with Camera, for example, both offer full 1080p HD live view and recording along with a 2000/2500 Lumen light Output (25w). They have motion activated video recording and clear two–way audio. Exterior security lighting can provide a simple to install and affordable way of enhancing home and business security. For some home and business owners, it may be a case of starting from scratch with the provision of security, for others a case of replacing old and corroded equipment or upgrading to a more sophisticated and reliable system. The installer working on the project can do an assessment of the requirements and advise on the best solution to meet the specific needs.
