s the UK races to meet its ambitious environmental targets, the burgeoning electric vehicle (EV) market is sparking significant opportunities for electrical wholesalers. Even with the government’s originally ambitious 2030 ban on new petrol and diesel vehicles slipping back to 2035, the demand for EVs has not subsided. In the year to November 2023, The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) data shows that electric vehicles (excluding mild-hybrid) commanded over 35% of new car sales in the UK. The demand for a robust EV charging infrastructure is more pressing than ever.


Herein lies a golden opportunity for electrical wholesalers, as the answer to the UK’s charging infrastructure will lie in ‘destination charging’ - a solution poised to drive a substantial surge in the UK’s electrical sales and installation businesses.
