Luceco’s Leren at Chester University Luceco has recently supplied luminaires to the University of Chester Engineering Building.
T
he university originated as the fi rst purpose-built teacher training college in the UK, occupying fi ve campus sites in and around Chester, with additional sites in Warrington and Shrewsbury. Luminaires supplied included linear suspended Leren along with recessed 600 x 600 LuxPanels and externally Fortis Wall packs. Off ering both upward and downward light distribution, particularly where there are high or open ceiling voids to illuminate, Leren was suspended to meet the requirements of the teaching spaces. Supplied complete with adjustable wire suspensions, Leren benefi ts from through-wiring, including electrical connectors as standard, to assist with both standalone and continuous run installations. Accessories available include ceiling mount electrical connection rose and blanking modules in 600, 900, 1,200 and 1,500-mm lengths.
Featuring a slim aluminium extrusion and
off ering superior lighting specifi cally optimised for the educational setting, Leren is available as fi xed output, DALI dimmable, emergency back-up variants, PIR and Luceco wireless lighting controls including Platform and Elevate. Luceco project manager, Andy Whalley, who designed the lighting solution for the engineering training centre, said: “Due to the modern construction and exposed ceilings of the building, we saw our contemporary Leren luminaire as being the perfect lighting solution for the teaching spaces.” Leren off ers excellent photometric performance and over 100,000 hours of maintenance free, operational life with an effi cacy of 120 Llm/cW, and three lumen outputs: 4,000, 5,200 and 7,500 lm as well as Luceco’s seven-year warranty. The luminaires were installed by DTM Installations.
