chneider Electric, a global energy technology leader, has launched a new research report highlighting the role electrifi cation must play in Europe’s future. Currently the electrifi cation rate in Europe is just 21%,
a fi gure that hasn’t changed in the last decade and is 10% behind China where rapid electrifi cation is taking place. At the same time, the cost of residential energy use in the EU is 0.27 Euro per kWh. In the US, that fi gure is 0.15, and China comes in at 0.08 Euro per kWh. The company welcomed Rachel Hopkins, MP for Luton South and South Bedfordshire, to its Luton head offi ce where she met with its senior leadership team, toured the company’s Research & Development facilities and learned more about its ambitious plans.

The report identifi es several critical policy changes needed to speed up progress to a more electrifi ed world. These include reducing the price gap between electricity and natural gas by phasing out fossil fuel subsidies and incentivising clean energy use; accelerating fi nancing; supporting rapid deployment of heat pumps and electric vehicles; and fostering local sustainable development.
Schneider appoints Alice Williams as VP Digital Energy UK&I
The company has embraced innovation through custom-built product solutions, enhanced technical support for customers and signifi cant investment in IT infrastructure, manufacturing and testing facilities at its headquarters.
Its portfolio includes smart technologies, renewable solutions and bespoke design-and- build services, with multiple new products and range additions launching this year.

chneider Electric has appointed Alice Williams as VP Digital Energy UK&I. Her role will be to drive growth and impact across the UK and Ireland Digital Energy business.
She will focus on delivering end user energy savings and more resilient, effi cient operations for customers through Schneider’s innovative energy management and automation solutions. Alice succeeds Kasim Mohammed who took on the role of VP for Services UK&I earlier this summer.
Alice has been with Schneider Electric for over six years. She is returning to the UK&I business following time in the US as VP US Services leading a team of 600 across multiple functions and countries. In this role she drove sustainable improvements in execution, employee engagement, and commercial outcomes, supporting over $1B in revenue and laying the foundation for scalable, data-driven growth across fi ve business units.
