Looking ahead with optimism R
ecent data from BEAMA showed a boost in optimism across the electrical sector, driven by the prospect of trade deals and the government’s ongoing commitment to decarbonisation and economic growth. This renewed industrial optimism marks a dramatic turnaround from Q1 2025, when sales were strong, but optimism was low. That said, despite the positive growth outlook, the shortage of skilled labour has a knock on eff ect for the whole electrical industry, and any pressure inevitably impacts smaller businesses most. Its tough out there for independent wholesalers, and it takes hard graft, fl exibility and dedication to stick it out and support your customers in a marketplace that isn’t always kind to SMEs.
