AMR, Drones and Healthcare. Their compact AOM-2721 platform offers up to 12 TOPS of performance, enabling powerful processing in constrained environments. Advantech also addressed long-term support and compliance, referencing a partnership with Canonical to provide 10 years of security maintenance for Ubuntu Pro, an important step in meeting EU Cyber Resilience Act requirements. With a full suite of hardware and software tools, the company is positioning itself as a flexible enabler of edge AI innovation across sectors.

Peridio: Avocado OS smooths the path from prototype to production Peridio demonstrated how its open-source Avocado OS is reshaping embedded Linux for edge AI applications, offering developers a scalable, secure, and OTA-friendly alternative to traditional distributions. The live demo at stand S7 showed the same Avocado OS-based application compiled for both Qualcomm Dragonwing QCM6490 and NVIDIA Jetson Orin, highlighting seamless portability across hardware platforms and readiness for production-grade devices like the Advantech ICAM-540 AI camera.

Chief product officer Justin Schneck explained the motivation behind the OS: “We believe the key to lowering the barrier

to entry is reducing risk by commoditising more of the embedded stack needed to build physical AI products.” Built on Yocto but designed for ease of use, Avocado OS avoids runtime package management and instead offers an immutable, deterministic, and reproducible distribution, allowing developers to deploy updates more efficiently, even over constrained networks.

Feedback from the open-source community has been encouraging. “Instead of there being a great deal of pushback… it was
