SCHURTER is launching its new series of momentary and latching push button switches with capacitive touch sensor technology inside. With this new product family, SCHURTER enters the latest technology trend in push button products on the market, while incorporating new and innovative features. With their elegant and modern look, these products are the perfect choice where ever a high quality-aesthetic appearance plays a role. Besides a predefined standard offering, there are many visual and functional options available to choose from. These features allow the customer to adapt the push button, or the switch in general, to their individual electrical and mechanical requirements.
The new CPS family of switches from SCHURTER is available with 16 mm, 19 mm and 22 mm diameter housings. The series is made of high-grade stainless steel. The CPS uses capacitive sensor technology, whereby a touch of the finger on the sensor area causes a change in the electrical field which in turn causes the switch to change its state; this occurs without any pressure on the actuator. The capacitive touch technology eliminates the need for any moving parts, hence making the CPS a long-life product capable of an unlimited number of actuations. The design of the CPS has a high-end look and elegant appearance as it is well-known to SCHURTER's Metal Line. The CPS actuator expands further on actuation options with a so-called finger guide, which is designed to enhance the user experience.
The customer can choose from a wide range of illumination options, starting with the selection of a ring illuminated or area illuminated version. The area illuminated version is made of scratch-resistant biocompatible ceramics. The customer then selects a single color, bi-color, or multicolor configuration. Besides the basic colors red, green, and blue, the CPS also offers additive colors like cyan, magenta, yellow, and white for custom color variations.

M12 Connectors for BUS Systems M-style connectors are categorised by the size of the threaded locking nut;
these include M8, and M12 connectors. Tough and robust, these waterproof, circular screw connectors are the de-facto standard in the process industry for reliable automated connections: protected to IP67. M8/M12 connectors provide a future-proof interface that supports higher-bandwidth needs, meeting the requirements of up to 10GB/s. All the leading BUS protocols are also available.
M12 connectors may also be coded. The common used keyed types are:
A-Coded; used in CAN-Bus, DeviceNet
B-Coded; used to prevent mating with standard sensor A coding and in field buses like Profibus DP
