Front End | News Anglia promotes Jill Bowie and Karen Ward to Board of Directors A

nglia Components has promoted Jill Bowie and Karen Ward to its Board of Directors. Between them, the two new appointees

have amassed nearly 60 years’ experience at Anglia, and their commitment and knowledge – together with that of their fellow directors and senior staff – are a big part of why Anglia has achieved its status as one of the largest independent electronic component distributors, with an enviable reputation for customer service.

Jill Bowie joined Anglia in 2001 as distribution centre manager, becoming operations manager in 2009. At that time, she also took responsibility for Human Resources, where her skills enabled her to implement an enhanced HR strategy

throughout the company. In June 2011 Jill was appointed to the Executive Leadership Team as operations director. Karen Ward joined Anglia’s internal sales team in 1990. Subsequently, she has developed a thorough understanding of the company’s ethos by managing a number of departments, including Internal Sales, Customer Relations and Business Development. In 2002 Karen was promoted to the position of office manager, a role that encompassed responsibility for all office-based customer and supplier-facing departments, where vendor managed inventory, value-added services and supply chain management have played an increasing part of the business. She was appointed to the Executive Leadership Team as sales office

director in June 2011, then became commercial director in 2023.

Steve Rawlins, Anglia’s CEO, said: “Jill and Karen fully deserve this promotion, as both have demonstrated extreme loyalty to Anglia and a thorough commitment to delivering exemplary customer service. Jill’s considerable knowledge of logistics and understanding

of continuous improvement programmes will continue to benefit Anglia and ensure that our processes and procedures are the best in the business. Karen has successfully performed many roles during her long career

at Anglia, which helps her understand and respond positively to customer requirements in a dynamic industrial environment.”
