applications. With SPST-NO configuration contacts rated 300A at 1,000V VAC, the G9KA-E delivers exceptional performance in high-voltage, high-current environments. Its construction ensures arc suppression and long electrical life, making it ideal for applications where safety, reliability, and endurance are paramount. The G9KA-E is part of Omron’s broader high-power relay portfolio and is engineered to meet the growing demand for efficient and compact switching solutions in electrification and renewable energy systems. What sets the G9KA-E apart is its ability to handle extreme power levels while maintaining a compact footprint. Measuring at just 56.7 x 51.0 x 54.5mm, the relay enables system designers to optimise space without compromising performance.
Figure 3. Auxiliary contact configuration G9KC
The G9KC relay has an initial contact resistance of ≤6 mΩ guaranteed, this is lower than other 4-pole PCB relays with similar contact ratings in the market, in addition, regardless of initial spec, typical spread of contact resistance under full load conditions is around 0.6 – 1.0 mΩ. Furthermore, the G9KC construction allows it to keep its lower contact resistance stably with no critical increase during and after electrical endurance tests. Lower contact resistance reduces the heat generated during operation meaning high performance can be maintained and reliability improved.
Available in 12 VDC and 24 VDC coil voltages, the G9KC main contacts are rated for 50K operations min. at 32 A / 277 VAC and 30K operations min. at 40 A / 480 VAC.
at 480V AC, the G9KC is engineered to handle high-load switching with exceptional reliability.
The G9KC is available in 4-pole (4PST-NO) (G9KC- 4A) and 4-Pole + 1-pole (4PST-NO + SPST-NC) contact configurations (G9KC-4A1B). The 4-pole structure means larger multipole contactors and 3 or 4 single-pole relays can be replaced with one G9KC for 3-phase (3-wire or 4-wire) applications.
The G9KC 4PST-NO + SPST-NC contact option (G9KC- 4A1B) utilises an auxiliary contact (Fig.3) making it possible to constantly monitor the open/close status of main contacts and detect an abnormal situation such as welded contacts. This integration of mechanical conductive path detection of main load contact failure is preferred over all other detection methods and is simpler and more cost effective to apply. The utilisation of a type B auxiliary contact provides a reliable main load contact weld detection solution as required by IEC61851. This auxiliary contact structure (called a mirror contact structure) is fully compliant with IEC 60947-4-1 Annex F (F.7.2), which requires main contacts and auxiliary contacts to be mechanically linked and have more than 0.5 mm of contact gap between auxiliary contacts when main contacts have a welding failure. With this reliable monitoring method, G9KC significantly contributes to safeguarding end users.

The G9KC relay is suitable for AC EV chargers, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and hybrid PV inverter applications, where space, efficiency, and reliability are paramount. As part of Omron’s high-power AC switching portfolio, the G9KC exemplifies the company’s commitment to delivering sustainable, high-performance solutions for the electrification era.
G9KA-E – flagship 300A rated relay for ultra-high power
The award-winning Omron G9KA-E is a flagship high-power relay designed for demanding energy
G9KA-E
The G9KA-E features an ultra-low contact resistance (Typical ≤ 0.2 mΩ) which is maintained throughout the lifetime of the relay. Contact resistance is one of the key characteristics for PCB high-power relays to reduce heat generation inside the component. This simplifies the thermal design process and offers wider design possibilities, including the use of smaller heatsinks and cooling fans. Ultimately, this improves efficiency and cost effectiveness of the product design. Additionally, its efficient low holding voltage capability further contributes to lower power consumption during relay energisation. Available in 12 VDC and 24 VDC coil voltages, the G9KA-E contacts are rated 300A max. switching current and feature 30K operations min. at 50 A make/break and 300 A carry current at 1000 VAC.
The G9KA-E relay is suitable for use in a wide range of power applications including EV chargers, UPS systems, high voltage systems, energy storage systems (ESS) and industrial inverters. It provides the robust switching backbone needed to support the transition to a carbon- neutral energy infrastructure.
