BFA Footwear50 2023: Celebrating excellence in the footwear industry

T
he British Footwear Association (BFA) has announced the unveiling of the BFA Footwear50 2023 list, in a prestigious event in partnership with Imbox Protection. This esteemed initiative spotlights 50 remarkable individuals from the footwear industry, selected for their significant contributions and innovative spirit. This year’s Footwear50 showcases a diverse and inspiring group of professionals – including visionary retailers, creative designers, skilled manufacturers, dedicated suppliers, and champions of sustainability. Chosen from over 100 nominees, these individuals represent the pinnacle of excellence in the footwear industry, spanning seven distinct categories: Retailers, Manufacturers, Brands, Design Independents, Suppliers & Wholesalers, Footwear Supporters, and Sustainability.
“We are honoured to recognise the passion and dedication of these outstanding professionals,” said BFA Chair, Jane Wilson, during the welcome speech at the event. “Their stories are not just success narratives but are beacons of inspiration, motivating the next generation in the footwear industry.”
The Footwear50 initiative, inclusive of both BFA Members and non-members, involves an industry-wide nomination process, with the final selection made by the BFA Board of Directors. This year’s celebration culminated in a networking reception in London, where the list was officially unveiled, bringing together industry professionals to honour the exceptional contributions of their peers.
