Kayland re-enters the UK market O

SC Outdoor has announced that it has taken over the distribution of Kayland, the Italian footwear brand that is well known for its high-profile technical shoes and boots for mountaineering, trekking and outdoor activities. It has re-entered the UK market and now offers a compact range for AW23, with an extended range available for SS24. Some of the product highlights include: Globo GTX – a unisex backpacking shoe made of nubuck, made of one piece of leather with no seams, and offering Gore-Tex Performance Comfort for guaranteed breathability and waterproofing.

Legacy GTX – a lightweight hiking boot, it combines a traditional boot construction with a modern design, featuring lines and tones with a high aesthetic impact but reminiscent of a traditionally-styled boot. Taiga Evo GTX – designed for mountain trails with mixed terrain. The Vibram Evolution sole has a deep tread, while the entire outsole features a characteristic “S” contouring design which replicates the natural roll of the foot. The outsole contains Smart PU for cushioning and maximum support and protection underfoot. Alpha GTX – light but structured footwear, the upper, made of suede and synthetic inserts, fits the foot perfectly, thanks to the last designed to follow its ergonomics. It has a specific Vibram Multiverse outsole for mixed terrain.

In 1971, Giovanni Bittante founded the Kayland brand; his technical skills immediately enabled him to create high quality products and, together with his far-sighted vision and ability to anticipate market trends, led him to found the Kayland Professional Team, a group of technical experts in the mountains.

In 2013, Kayland became part of the M.G.M. S.p.A. group. The company, founded in 1982 and based in the sports/footwear district of Montebelluna (TV), boasts a historical presence in the mountain and outdoor sports footwear sector.

Deichmann, said: “Our latest store at the Ashley Centre is a huge investment and will enable us to deliver our wide variety of products to a new community. The designed retail format has gone down particularly well over the last few months, and it’s exciting to launch the new concept within a destination also undergoing significant investment, making Epsom a strong addition to our portfolio.”

Louisa Butters, Head of Retail Asset Management UK at CBRE Investment Management, also commented: “Deichmann is a solid brand to have as part of the Centre’s retail mix. Suiting multiple demographics and delivering an assortment of likeable brands, they are a fantastic addition, utilising a prominent space within the centre.” GCW & Cushman and Wakefield represent
