Compact 4-Position High Pressure Benchtop Reactor

The Quadracell 4-position high pressure reactor from Asynt is a new synthetic tool for scientists seeking the convenience of routine parallel pressure chem- istry in a compact footprint.

Designed and manufactured in the UK, the robust

Quadracell reactor is simple to set up and to operate, with heating and agitation provided by a standard magnetic hotplate stirrer and magnetic flea.

Constructed in durable Stainless Steel 316, the Quadracell has four cells - each with a reaction volume of 10 mL – that can routinely operate at temperatures up to 250 °C. For labs using aggressive or caustic media the Quadracell is optionally available constructed from Hastelloy C276 for enhanced chemical resistance. Different versions of the Quadracell are available to safely operate up to your chosen maximum working pressure of 50, 100 or 200 Bar.

New ultra-high-pressure hose from Parker extends service life in water -jetting applications

Construction, shipbuilding and general industry set to benefit from PFX30-50, which is rated up to 301 MPa working pressure

Parker Hannifin, the global leader in motion and control technologies, is launching PFX30-05, a DN8 ultra-high-pressure hose that offers improved service life in industrial water-jetting/blasting applications across sectors that include construction and shipbuilding. Featuring six spiral layers of high-tensile steel wire instead of eight layers found in most counterparts, the new Parker PFX30-05 offers robust performance and extended operations, while simultaneously providing a low weight of just 0.96 to 1.11 kg/m.

The high-pressure, high-velocity characteristics of water jetting/blasting means that only the toughest hoses can provide the service life required in demanding industrial environments. De- veloped by Parker’s Polymer Hose Division Europe, the new PFX30-05 ultra-high-pressure hose is ideal for use with water-jetting lances that deliver working pressures up to 3010 bar (301 MPa, 43,645 psi). Such high pressure is often necessary in the construction sector for hydro-demolition and the removal of accumulated dirt and materials from surfaces like concrete and asphalt. Mindful of market demands for safety, Parker’s expert team of development engineers has cre- ated the PFX30-05 with a working pressure that carries a design factor of 2.3.

TLV upgrades renowned cospect valve to ease installation and minimise process disruption

constant pressure and temperature.

Through a process of continued development and product enhancements, the renowned three-in-one COSPECT pressure reducing valve from steam system specialist TLV Euro Engineering has been upgraded and is now being offered with integrated pressure gauges as standard across the range.

Commenting for TLV Euro Engineering, general manager Michael Povey says: “By upgrading and offering the pressure gauges as standard across the range, we have enhanced the COSPECT to make it even more of a unified steam system solution. The integrated gauges also mean no additional pipework modification is required before or after the PRV, which reduces installation time and minimises process downtime.”. Originally launched over 35 years ago, the COSPECT is a combined pilot-operated pressure reducing valve (PRV), cyclone separator, strainer and steam trap in a single component that overcomes the limitations and inadequacies of conventional PRVs and solves their many associated problems – including fluctuations in primary and secondary pressures and valve hunting and vibration – to provide improved-quality dry steam at a

By eliminating the conventional arrangement and combining four separate components into a single valve, the COSPECT delivers numerous engineering benefits by incorporating fewer gaskets, spool pieces and fixings, improving moisture separation and providing accurate and stable pressure control. It is also more sensitive to downstream pressure fluctuations, is reliable in operation and its unified, modular construction facilitates easy, in-line maintenance.

In addition to the

engineering benefits, the single component

design of the five-model COSPECT makes it faster and easier to install, is lighter than the sum of using separate components, reduces the amount of insulation required and reduces the requirement for pipe support brackets
