PPMA Show 2019 E

clipse Magnetics will be attending the PPMA Total Show from 1st – 3rd October at the NEC in Birmingham this year. On display will be a selection of products from our comprehensive range of high performance magnetic sepa- ration and detection systems on stand E62.

As the UK’s largest ever event in the processing and packaging machinery sector, the PPMA show is a great platform in which to showcase Eclipse Magnetics’ range of high-quality, high-power magnetic separators for most applications, including bulk, grain, dry powders, damp pow- ders, liquids and syrups, as well as a comprehensive range of metal detectors and vibratory sieves. Used in almost every processing industry to remove ferrous and para- magnetic contaminationfrom process lines, our magnetic separation systems are the perfect solution for preventing product contamination and da mage to machinery .

illongley Spring Water now boasts one of the UK’s most efficient bottling facilities having installed one of Fulton’s VSRT steam the new plant’s washing line. Commenting for Fillongley, Martin Whitehead says: “We looked at alternatives – including vertical and horizontal firetube boilers – but, with advice from our contractors and installer, a decision to specify one of Fulton’s recently-launched VSRT-

expectations!”

T-30 steam boilers was taken and, overall, the Instead of running two boilers for the washing

line, a single VSRT boiler is now results have exceeded

being used to achieve an increased target temperature of 60C for the detergent. The combination of the new line and Fulton’s energy-efficient VSRT also means the company has been able to increase the throughput of the line by 40% – from 1,200 bottles per hour to 2,000 – and Fillongley has reduced its gas consumption by about a third .

Clamp seals provide secure, hygienic tube connections F

reudenberg Sealing Technologies has unveiled a series of

production machines that are require extremely secure tube connections in newly developed clamp seals that

continuous basis. Using the new seals allows customers to eliminate

the expense of converting connections to a ‘hygiene flange’ in accordance with DIN 11864, while undesirable

over-compression into the interior of the tube connection

is averted. In addition, the seals are especially easy to install and re-separate as, by the defined compression, any ‘sticking’ on the flange is contained. The new clamp seals are available from authorised distributor Dichtomatik Ltd, the exclusive provider for Freudenberg’s food and beverage related products in the UK.

Development of the clamp seals has been prompted by the lack of pre-defined compression provided by conventional alternatives.

SICK Reflex Array Sensors are on the Leading Edg e

array sensors, the RAY10 and RAY26, to detect even the most difficult-to-see objects moving on high-speed conveyors. The SICK RAY10 and RAY26 Reflex Array Sensors create a wide 2D light band to reliably detect the leading edges of objects, even when they not clearly defined, transparent, or are only a few millimetres high, such as polybags, flat packaging and parcels.

S

SICK’s RAY10 and RAY26 sensors deliver consistently high detection results, no matter if objects are irregularly-shaped, randomly positioned on the conveyor belt, shiny, high-contrast, or varied in height or colour. The sensors will also detect

perforated objects without danger of false tripping or the need to programme multiple switching operations.

space and set-up time.

“The RAY10 and RAY26 Reflex Array sensors are a new proposition for integrating even the most challenging detection tasks in high-speed conveying applications in diverse industries from parcel handling to food packaging, automotive assembly or electr onics,” explains David Hannaby, SICK’s UK Product Manager for presence detection. “The sensors also offer all the benefits of smart diagnostics and IO-Link integration, while halving the costs of detection compared to conventional solutions.”

Installation and commissioning of the RAY10 and RAY26 is quick and easy, using SICK’s PinPoint LED technology which makes the light array clearly visible, so the sensors can be accurately aligned. A simple teach-in process completes the set-up.
