always top concerns for companies working in harsh and hazardous environments. The new EA (Easy Access) range of enclosures from Hawke International offers a sloping design that makes installation safe and easy and simplifies inspection. The unit assures electrical safety
in applications in oil and gas, pharmaceutical, energy, agriculture and other demanding industrial sectors where hazards are found. Working within a confined space
is always time consuming so increasing hand access is the key to ensure faster installation. The EA enclosures have as much as 55 percent more wiring space than some alternatives on the market.
A turned-out sealing face also
allows tools such as spanners, easier parallel access to gland locknuts. Glands are fitted via the base as per industry best practice. A 3mm gland plate or sheet steel for on-site punching is available. For safety, frequent inspection is
a necessity in harsh and hazardous environments. Faster inspection is made possible by the cut-a-way side walls not obstructing good vision of all wiring. Retaining pins prevent the removable hinged lid from being dropped, giving greater confidence when working quickly – especially by avoiding drop hazards. The sloping lid design has a
further benefit in helping contaminants that may cause corrosion to naturally flow off without having time to adhere to the surface. A single piece gasket gives good sealing performance with multiple lid fixing points ensuring sealing compression is equal all round.

DIN RAIL MOUNTING TERMINAL BLOCKS
A new range of rising clamp DIN Rail mounting terminal blocks has been released by CamdenBoss that enables connections to be plugged into DIN Rail enclosures, while saving PCB space inside the enclosure. Traditionally, connections to units

Optional IP 69K protection is now offered with the technoPlus pole mounted enclosures from Rolec – safeguarding electronics from high pressure and high temperature jet washing. They are designed for challenging indoor and outdoor locations. Each case features a dedicated bracket for horizontal or vertical mounting. These enclosures are rated to IP 66 as standard (IP 67 and IP
69K optional) and moulded from UV stable ASA Luran (UL 94 HB). Each enclosure is pre-moulded with screw ports for the mounting bracket so no machining is needed. They can be installed ‘lid closed’ to help protect the seal and the electronics. Retaining straps hold the recessed lid in place if it does need to
be opened – useful when the enclosures have to be installed at height or in other difficult locations. Hinged lid trims conceal the fixing screws to deter tampering and provide further protection against the weather. The enclosures are available in five sizes ranging from 130 x 90 x
70mm to 270 x 170 x 90mm. The standard colour is light grey (RAL 7035) but custom colours are also available on request. Accessories include the pole/mast attachment, terminal rails and an
internal mounting plate. Enclosures can be customised with CNC milling and drilling of cutouts; bespoke colours; printing and engraving of legends and logos; EMC shielding; assembly of components.

In systems where connections are made to DIN Rail systems that require periodic disconnection (e.g. for replacement, maintenance or updating purposes), this has previously required PCB or chassis mounted pluggable terminal blocks to be housed within the DIN Rail enclosure eating into precious space and PCB real estate. By using DIN Rail mounting terminal blocks, it is possible to make connections independently of the various DIN Rail units within a given system. As well as being able to place the
DIN Rail terminal blocks anywhere on the rail, this new range can also be unclipped and the orientation of the terminal block reversed.

Ambic Equipment is using customised enclosures from Spelsberg UK to house its latest dosing and dilutions system, the EasiDoser. The enclosures, which are certified for installation in ammonia rich agricultural applications, have been provided with CNC machined entry points and custom mounting plates to speed up the manufacturing process. When designing a new product one of the first considerations has to be how to protect the delicate PCB, pumps and wiring from these conditions. Spelsberg enclosures offered the company this solution.

CONCEALED WALL MOUNTING ELEMENT FOR ENCLOSURE SYSTEM
OKW’s Synergy enclosures can now be wall mounted using a new concealed suspension element. This new suspension element is compatible with the circular R120 (120mm)
and 140 (140mm) variants. Its hidden fixings are discrete (which can be installed with one screw). The new wall suspension element’s adapter (45

x 58mm) is attached to the housing using customised double-sided foil on a foam rubber carrier. This adapter fits into a housing which is either screwed to the wall or attached using adhesive foils (available as an accessory). A clever locking pin system provides removal protection. Each kit is supplied with an adapter, two
adhesive foils, one holder and two locking pins. All the plastic components are moulded from ASA+PC-FR for added strength and UV stability. The standard colour is black (RAL 9005). These anodised aluminium enclosures are
available in four shapes (square, rectangular, circular and oval) and 36 plan sizes ranging from 100mm and 100 x 100mm to 200 x 100mm.
Enclosures can be specified with or without battery compartments for 1.5V AA cells. All the fixings are concealed due to the smart
fast-connect construction system. Four internal assembly pillars hold each enclosure together. They snap into the recessed top panel, locate the assembly extrusion and are fixed to the bottom part with four stainless steel Torx T10 anti- tamper screws. Accessories include the wall suspension
elements plus polarity reversal protection devices, battery clips, button cell holders, battery compartments, an extender kit for the PCB pillars, self-tapping screws and a Torx T10 screwdriver.
