nternational business now
makes up the majority of sales at Verotec, European metal enclosure and subrack manufacturer for the electronics industry. Driven by major contract wins in North America, the company’s forward order book now extends to more than three years. The increased business levels and long-term contracts have underpinned a new £200k investment in the factory to reduce lead times, improve capacity and enhance quality.
Just under three
years since the first unit was installed, a second 10 tool Datron M8Cube automated machining centre with a large 1020 x 830 x 245mm XYZ capability has been commissioned. One machine is fitted with vacuum clamps for large work pieces; the other
with mechanical clamps to hold multiple smaller pieces. The CAM cell can now
simultaneously produce small modified front panels in high volumes and also larger panels that require many different sizes and shapes of aperture in a single
monolithic piece of aluminium sheet. In addition, new Datron tooling enables high precision engraving of legends and logos. A linisher/brusher has also been
installed to give a higher quality and more uniform finish to front panels. A new mezzanine floor has also been added to the Southampton manufacturing facility, creating a dedicated clean room for electronic assembly and system integration. The additional space and reorganisation has meant that assembly and configuration of the 19 inch IMRAK range, which was previously located in a separate facility nearby, has now been brought fully in-house.

LARGE QUARTER-TURN LOCKS FOR SPECIALIST CABINETS
For specialist cabinet and enclosure manufacturers, the EMKA Program 1000 range ioffers an affordable, reliable door closure for industrial and outdoor applications. They are built upon the company’s derived market knowledge in modular hardware. These large quarter-turn latches and locks
offer IP65 protection against ingress of dust and water across a selection of zinc-die, engineered plastic and stainless steel items. Standard configurations suit a variety of general applications with traditional insert key and cylinder lock options, wing knobs, as well as T and L handles. Padlockable types are part of the this range. For niche application the company offers
NEW HANDHELD TABLET KIOSK RANGE IS SECURE AND STYLISH
A new tablet kiosk range has been launched by imageHolders. The Loxo Mini Kiosk is a new tablet enclosure system which is lightweight, flexible and secure in design. It can be counter mounted or handheld,
with further iterations planned for the future. The enclosure can securely enclose any 10 inch tablets such as Samsung Tab A or iPad Pro 9.7. It has cable management and securely locks the tablet within the enclosure. The Loxo Mini Kiosk is available in three mount types: counter mounted, floor standing or handheld. The
hand held enclosure creates a versatile option for businesses looking for a portable solution. Alongside the main enclosure, a secure expansion module can be added to hold a contactless reader or
other OEM device. The module is designed for most small devices, but can be tailored to hold specified devices. This enclosure was designed after extensive research and development, to create a lightweight yet secure
portable tablet enclosure which is also available as counter mounted. The Loxo is currently in prototype stage, undergoing rigorous in house testing. The final product will be in keeping with the company’s core staples of being secure, stylish and innovative. This enclosure is compatible with the company’s universal tablet tray, and is suitable for 10” tablets from
first deployment, with further tablets being added as the market dictates.

EASY CONNECTION CREATED WITH ROBUST METAL DOCKING FRAME The docking frame works without the need for
A new robust docking frame metal connector solution from Harting has been developed for quick installation of systems that have to be mated “blind” or coupled automatically – in switch cabinet drawers, for example. The new docking frame allows machine
components to be switched quickly and securely, for incorporating slide-in modules in low-voltage switching systems or energy storage units along with signals, power and data. The frame works as a receptacle for units in the company’s Han- Modular family of industrial connectors, in which different modules for the transfer of power, signal and data or compressed air can be located side- by-side.

any additional articulated frames, and connector modules can be fitted directly to it, saving time and cost. The frame has two long leading guide pins on the pin side to bring the two connector faces together. The connectors are located in a “floating”
mount with a ±2mm tolerance, allowing the socket face to be oriented to the ideal position for greater accuracy and a more secure connection. Because grounding is separate in many insertion scenarios, the docking frame has no PE contact, but grounding can be added as required with a PE module that can be obtained separately.
