ADVERTORIAL TECHNOLOGY IN ACTION

Very Compact 2 x 4in Single Output Power Supplies provide up to 300W

sensor for up to 20 m E

Hydrostatic level

GE has extended its DGC line of hydrostatic level meters, adding a new sensor for measuring liquid

media levels up to 20 m. The sensor consists of a measuring head with integrated electronics and an IP68 probe attached to a cable. The cable is up to 20 m long to ensure the probe can be lowered to the bottom of large tanks. The electronics unit is enclosed in a rugged stainless-steel housing with a G¾ thread for attachment, for instance on the tank cover. A line of LEDs integrated in the measuring head indicates the level at a glance. The sensor requires a 24 V DC supply. It can be used in ambient or media temperatures from -20 °C to +75 °C. Measured values are transmitted via a 4...20 mA output.

Powersolve, announces a series of compact, single output AC-DC power supplies designed to provide as much as 300W output. They a wide operating temperature range of - 30° to +85°C (with some derating). The six model PSY300 series are open baseplate units with a tiny 2 x 4in (50.8 x 101.6mm) footprint and a height of 1.31in (33.5mm). Operating from a

L

wide 90 to 264VAC input range with active PFC, models in the PSY330 series provide single fixed output voltages of 12V, 18V, 24V, 30V, 48V or 54V DC, providing up to 150W convection cooled, 180W conduction cooled through baseplate and 250W with fan cooling. With both conduction and forced air cooling, a PSY300 unit can give up to 300W output power. A 12V, 0.3A fan supply is a standard feature. PSY300 units are efficient (up to 92%) and feature a no load power consumption figure of 0.15W without fan. The

power supplies are protected against short circuit, over current, over voltage and over temperature. The units have a high capacitive load capability, are suitable for Class I and Class II operation and feature an

extra low leakage current figure of less than 100µA. The PSY300 series meet all relevant EMI radiated and conducted standards and have a number of safety

approvals pending. Powersolve can also supply models with any output voltages from 9V to 57VDC, still within the safety approvals, but these may be subject to minimum order quantities.

eading power supply specialist,

Registration is now open for the Sensors & Instrumentation Live 10th anniversary event

T

here are many reasons to visit Sensors & Instrumentation Live when it returns to the NEC, Birmingham on 25 and 26 September 2019, with new feature areas added to

celebrate the 10th anniversary of the show. As well as discovering products and services from market-leading companies, you can learn how to grow your business in the Enterprise Hub, see demonstrations of the best technology in Innovation in Action and find out about the very latest in engineering in the Engineering Symposium. Registration for Sensors & Instrumentation is now open and your free ticket not only gets you access to the UK’s only national instrumentation exhibition but also the co-located TCT Show.

New to the 2019 exhibition is the Enterprise Hub - an area that will explore the different growth opportunities that are available to manufacturers. Representatives from key engineering institutions and organisations will give a series of invaluable presentations, giving visitors an insight into topics including funding, training, apprenticeships and standards. Dan Canty, accreditation & awards manager at The Institution of Engineering & Technology (The IET), is going to give the talk ‘An introduction to apprenticeship and technician qualifications’. As well as providing an introduction to the qualifications, the talk will cover where to access information and support and how the IET supports engineering apprentices, providers and employers.

40 JUNE 2019 | ELECTRONICS

Another speaker lined up for the Enterprise Hub is Charlotte Horobin, membership director – Midlands & East of England, Make UK. In her talk ‘‘Making It Happen’ – A view from UK manufacturing and the challenges and choices that lie ahead’, Horobin will provide an overview of Make UK’s research of how the sector is fairing in these challenging times and will explore some of the key hurdles that need to be capitalised on, turning them into opportunities such as skills, productivity and export.

Other organisations that have already signed up to be at the event include the British Measurement & Test Association (BMTA), the Defence and Security Accelerator (DASA), GAMBICA and the Centre for Innovation in Advanced Measurement in Manufacturing.
