waterproof connectors supply power to machines

In response to the need for simple solutions capable of supplying power to machines and systems, Murrelektronik offers the MQ15 range of water- and dustproof connectors. Their quick tool-free

connection – all that is needed for an IP67 rated connection is a ¼-turn – is said to reduce assembly time for new installations, service, and maintenance by up to 80%. According to the company, safe assembly

is enhanced by the fact that the connector’s locking status is marked both visually and haptically; while an audible ‘click’ provides acoustic feedback that the MQ15 has been properly installed. The PUR overmould ensures tamper resistance as well as protection against bending and vibration, while additional protection is provided by a locking mechanism and a conduit retainer on the connector. The MQ15 family includes single or

double-ended overmoulded, pre-assembled connectors with your choice of highly resistant PUR or cost-effective PVC cable as well as receptacles and T-couplers. They are available in 4 and 6-pole versions with wire cross- sections of 1.5mm² and 2.5mm² respectively. The product portfolio is rounded off by the h-distributor with moulded cables, which allows power distribution to be flexibly routed at any

subminiature solutions

Glenair’s family of TwistPin equipped Micro-D subminiature connectors is now available from Powell Electronics. The devices offer outstanding mating performance, very high durability and minimal contact resistance for applications where interconnect failure is simply not an option. Further benefits include high current ratings, low circuit resistance and very good EMI/RFI shielding. The QPL 83513 Micro-D and COTS

connectors feature Glenair’s high-density micro TwistPin contacts set on .050 centres in arrangements from 9-130 contacts. Thanks to special material selection, fabrication and heat treating techniques, TwistPin contacts resist high temperature stress relaxation for up to 1000 hours at 125˚C. Available with insulated and uninsulated

wire, PCB, solder cup and flex terminations, as QPL or commercial variations, the Micro-D devices provide a reliable solution for all high-performance interconnect requirements including high temperature and hermetic applications.

Industry standard VHDCI (very-high-density-cable- interconnect) cables, terminated with a 68-pin male at each end and in two standard lengths, are now available from Cliff Electronics. These connecting cables are commonly used

for connecting SCSI (Scuzzy) ‘Small Computer System Interface’ peripherals within computer systems, the company explains. The relevant VHDCI specification calls for a

A new power-efficient connector has been added to ODU’s portfolio for soldier communications. The robust metal AMC NP connector is designed

to enhance a soldier’s ability to communicate in the battlefield and is tested to MIL-STD-810H and applicable technical requirements. In addition, the connector contains improved

stubs, reducing the number of mating points. The connectors transmit high currents in

the smallest space thanks to the use of high- conductivity plastics and the elimination of metal parts. The 4-pole version has three power contacts + PE, while the 6-pole version offers two signal contacts. The latter makes it easy integrating additional functions like temperature or brake. The current transfer values of up to 16A continuous load at a voltage of 600V AC opens up a wide range of applications. With the MQ15 receptacles, motors can be converted to a pluggable solution in no time at all. The receptacle is simply screwed into an existing M20x1.5 threaded hole in the motor housing – no adapters or special solutions required.

vhdci cables offers a range of features

68-pin male-to-male SCSI cable and the connectors are small enough that four can fit on a single PCI card plate. Other key specifications include: Operating current 0.5A maximum per contact; operating voltage maximum 30V AC (RMS)/DC; enhanced EMC shield; EMI protection, ferrite core: Ø17.5mm x 28.5mm x Ø12mm. These are also available in standard lengths of 1m and 2m. John Hall, managing director of

Cliff Electronics, commented: “These cables continue to be much used in connecting peripherals, our VHDCI cable is a widely used interconnect for both legacy and new equipment requiring parallel data transmission.” Cliff Electronics is a leaders in the

design and manufacture of standard and FeedThrough connectors for audio,

broadcast and industrial systems including Fibre- Optic. In addition, it can supply jack sockets, DC power connectors, terminal binding posts, test connectors and leads, optical jacks and leads and waterproof connectors.

power contacts with USB 2.0 capabilities along with power-efficient contacts, minimum 2,000 mating cycles, waterproof up to IP68, with 20m, 120min waterproof versions available. Applications include: Tactical soldier batteries;

PDU (Power Distribution Units); CWB (Conformable Wearable Batteries); and C4ISR peripherals. It is also compatible with open-architecture standards such as NATO STANAG 4695, Nett Warrior and GOSSRA (General Open Structure Architecture).
