Smiths Interconnect launches new fixed chip attenuators offering proven high

performance in commercial applications AT Series ensures ease of installation in an optimized single-chip design

Smiths Interconnect, a leading provider of technically differentiated electronic components, subsystems, microwave, optical and radio frequency products, announces the launch of its new AT Series of RF chip attenuators from DC to 20 GHz. RF chip attenuators are components used in

communication systems to reduce the strength of a signal passing through it. They play a crucial role in protecting systems from receiving a signal with a power level that is too high to process. The range being introduced from Smiths Interconnect is significant because it offers a high frequency of DC to 20 GHz which is required for use in key commercial and space applications. “The single-chip design of the AT Series replaces an array of resistors, saving valuable

board space and allowing an easy installation in the customer’s circuit”, said Tullio Panarello, VP and General Manager of the Fibre Optics and RF Components Business Unit at Smiths Interconnect. “The customer’s cost of ownership is decreased by reducing the bill of material and eliminating tuning of the circuit while adding more reliability”, he added.

engineering software GT STRUDL® Hexagon’s Asset Lifecycle Intelligence division, a global leader in digital reality solutions, has today unveiled a new release of its GT STRUDL® 41 software. GT STRUDL is a structural engineering

software that offers a complete design solution to create safe and effective designs while managing the complexity of many different scenarios across a range of industries, including power, civil engineering, marine, and infrastructure. To meet structural steel and concrete design requirements,

structural engineers need to comply with applicable codes and regulations. While the ASCE 7-22 Code is the latest published version, many engineers are still required to comply with the requirements of ASCE 7-16 or ASCE 7-10. With this new version, engineers can build, assess and report on structural systems of

any size in accordance with more than 25 international structural code standards. This new version fully integrates Smart 3D, ISIP, CAESAR II, CADWorx Structure, Dimensional Solutions MAT 3D, and SDS/2.

radiation tolerant TCXO Frequency control specialist, Euroquartz has introduced a new range of radiation tolerant temperature-compensated crystal oscillators (TCXO) from Greenray Industries Inc. that offer excellent performance in high shock and vibration environments. Housed in a rugged, radiation tolerant, stainless

steel and nickel-plated package, the new T1276 TCXOs offer frequencies between 2.5 and 120MHz over a wide temperature range from -55 to +125°C. Ultra-low acceleration sensitivity is less than 0.07ppb/g making these oscillators ideal for use in a wide range of applications including high orbit transponders, low orbit nano/micro satellites, RF telemetry systems, multiband terminals and upconverters. The 24-pin DIP package measures 20.3 x 12.7 x 8.9mm and offers protection from total

ionising doses up to 200krad (Si). Additional specifications include SEL and SET free to 100MeV cm²/mg, choice of 3.3 and 5V DC power supply requirement and CMOS or sinewave output.

OKW’s New CONNECT S Enclosures

For Handheld Wired Electronics OKW has added a new slimline S size to its CONNECT range of handheld plastic enclosures for wired electronics. Versatile CONNECT is ideal for data systems engineering, networks, building services

technology, safety engineering, IoT/ IIoT sensors, medical devices, measurement and control. CONNECT enclosures comprise two sections – one flat and recessed for a membrane

keypad, the other curved and tactile. Rounded corners add further ergonomic comfort. CONNECT’s two shells snap together; there are no fixings screws – reducing assembly

time and giving designers a choice of two ‘fronts’. Apertures at both ends can be fitted with either a cable gland or end panel. The enclosures offer plenty of space for compact displays, LEDs and USB connectors.

Inside, the flat section has pillars for fitting PCBs and other components. New CONNECT S is 42 mm wide, 22 mm high and available in three lengths: 60, 90 and

120 mm. (Existing size M is 54 x 22 x 76/116/156 mm.) All the housings are moulded from UV-stable ASA+PC-FR (UL 94 V-0) in either off-white (RAL 9002) or black (RAL 9005). Accessories include rail holding clamps, cable gland kits, end panels, wall holders and

PCB mounting screws. OKW can supply CONNECT enclosures fully customised. Services include machining, lacquering, printing, laser marking, decor foils, EMC shielding, and installation/assembly of accessories.

emergency stop buttons Wieland Electric has such a solution ready for safety technology in mechanical engineering and intralogistics: New emergency stop buttons are available for the safe, manual shutdown of machines and systems. Thanks to the M12 connection, they can be easily integrated into plants and systems using pre-assembled M12 standard cables. With the introduction of the new

emergency stop buttons, Wieland Electric not only meets the increasing demand for M12 connections in industry, but also expands its portfolio with ready-to-use variants that offer numerous advantages due to their plug and play installation. This includes reducing installation time and cabling effort as well as avoiding cabling

errors during installation. Thanks to the compact and robust design, the emergency stop buttons can be installed in control cabinets and panels, but are also

suitable - thanks to the IP65 and IP67 protection class design - for installation in the field where harsh ambient conditions prevail.
