VERSATILE, GENERAL PURPOSE, INDUSTRIAL EPOXY ADHESIVES, AVAILABLE NEXT DAY

IRS 2111 all-purpose epoxy adhesive and 2112 fast curing general purpose epoxy adhesive are versatile and simple to use, two part epoxies, which can be used for bonding, sealing and structural support applications. They are supplied in convenient side-by-side syringe cartridges for efficient mixing and application, and are supported by Intertronics’ technical backup. They are available ex-stock for next day delivery, thus

enabling manufacturers to minimise their stock, get on with their production, or quickly initiate projects. They join the range of adhesives marketed under the ‘adhere – better bonding from Intertronics’ brand, a portfolio of products for industrial applications. IRS 2111 is an excellent medium viscosity adhesive suitable for a broad range of industrial

applications, with good adhesion to multiple substrates, including metals, glass, wood, composites, GRP, ceramics, ferrites, stone, rubber and many thermoset plastics. It has a useful working life of about one hour, which allows for repositioning of substrates after application if necessary and an extended cure forming a resilient bond with some flexure, providing impact and chemical resistance. IRS 2112 is a fast-curing, high viscosity adhesive, with a gel time of four to five minutes, even in

smaller mass applications, and typically reaches full cure in six to 12 hours. When mixed, it has a viscosity like syrup and cures to a hard, glossy, almost-clear finish, with excellent electrical properties. It has good adhesion to a wide variety of substrates, including metal, glass, composites, GRP, fibreglass, ceramic, ferrite, wood, rigid plastic and many other common substrates. It can be used for structural bonding and sealing. Intertronics

FLEXPOINT LASER MODULES

I

UK-based datalogger specialist Acksen has released its new DS-108, a PC based eight channel temperature logger, suitable for education and industrial research, used especially by testers and developers in alternative and renewable energy and hydronic heating companies, as well as for cold chain analysis. The DS-108 has a +5V voltage output to

power peripheral circuitry and has eight digital voltage inputs, which allows the recording of binary inputs like switches, doors open/closed and pump or motor status, a feature which is not generally available on similar loggers. www.acksen.com

NEW TECHCON POSITIVE DISPLACEMENT PC PUMP AVAILABLE NOW FROM ELLSWORTH ADHESIVES EUROPE

Thanks to reliability, build quality, and affordable cost, Laser Components’ Flexpoint laser diode module range is continuing to increase in demand. The Flexpoint series is a simplified and easy-to-use laser solution, which can deliver sharp, bright laser spots, lines, and patterns, in a variety of colours. The laser modules are fully customisable and only need to be connected to a DC voltage source (wavelength dependent) to operate. The focus option provides the user with an easy way to reduce the beam diameter at multiple distances - no tools required. With a range of red, green, blue, and infrared solutions the Flexpoint series is used for alignment with either the naked eye or a camera system, small-area illumination, triangulation-based range- finding, and many more applications. For more bespoke applications Laser

Components can customise parameters, such as the laser housing dimensions, control options such as digital modulation, custom connectors and much more. www.lasercomponents.com/uk

34 MAY 2017 | DESIGN SOLUTIONS

Ellsworth Adhesives has announced the addition of the newly developed TS8100 Series positive displacement PC pump to its extensive portfolio of dispensing equipment. Now available to order, this volumetric pump is designed with the ability to dispense a diverse range of fluids, including low viscosity coatings to high viscosity greases. The pump is based on progressive cavity (PC) technology, with a special stator and rotor design to create an accurate and consistent dispensing output. In turn, Techcon systems have the capability to serve high-end applications that require precise and repeatable outputs of ±1 per cent tolerance. This continuously volumetric dispense pump guarantees there will be no change to the shape or size of the fluid. This is due to the turning rotor moving the fluid in tightly sealed cavities through the stator’s fluid chamber and producing a volumetric fluid flow with the

ability to adjust shot size. As such, the efficiency of this system can be assured by the formulation and ability of this stator. The TS8100 encapsulates this distinctive stator and rotor design to achieve a coherent dispensing output, generating a flow rate of 0.15- 1.04ml/min and viscosity range of 1- 300,000 cps. Consumers can benefit from an adjustable flow rate, suck-back action, feedback from the controller, continuous dispensing, compatibility with abrasive materials, low maintenance and an easy to clean system. Suitable for use in optical bonding,

conformal coating, potting applications and

encapsulation, the TS8100 is able to meet the needs of the vast majority of end-users. Included with a standard system is a syringe bracket, mounting bracket kit, luer lock fitting, cleaning kit and dispensing tip selection pack. Ellsworth

As an all-new supplement to the modular industrial gear range, Nord Drivesystems now provides extruder flanges optimised for heavy duty operation. Several different extrusion

flanges are available for each of the industrial gear units from size five to size 11, with rated torques from 15kNm to 80kNm. Almost all usual dimensions can thus be adapted. Extra-large thrust bearings ensure that all process forces are absorbed and provide enhanced durability for long

lifespans. This new option for the industrial gears enables primary and secondary plastics and rubber manufacturers, and their suppliers, to create safe and highly reliable drives in very customisable configurations. The Nord industrial gear range offers a variety of input and output shafts and gaskets, flexible mounting directions, and thermal monitoring solutions. The extruder flange, as well as industrial gear units, in two additional sizes, were showcased

for the first time at the 2017 Hannover Messe exhibition.
