wo new cavity pressure sensors from Kistler have front end diameters of only 1mm, the world’s smallest, and 2.5 mm both of which can be machined up to 0.5 mm to be made flush with the cavity wall contour virtually eliminating any marking of the moulding. Both sizes come with UniSens® uniform sensitivity to simplify installation, option of Titanium Carbo-Nitride (TiCN) coating for use with abrasive media and 2,000 bar pressure range. Both versions have uniform sensitivity to ensure maximum deviation of ± 3% of the nominal sensitivity (2.25 pC/bar). This simplifies installation and interchangeability of sensors, as the nominal sensitivity can be used. All versions with replaceable cable are IP67 protected. customers to gain this new UL certificate for NCKL2/8 approval to bring their products in line with new standards for ignition-protected components. ZF Friedrichshafen AG are pleased to confirm approval has been


received for the UL certificate for NCKL2/8 applying to the D4 range of versatile miniature snap switches.

areas while remaining protected from weather conditions. The enclosure avoids the need to purchase more costly VSDs with higher IP ratings. IP65 or IP66 are often specified for outdoor VSD installations, on the assumption that these higher ratings are sufficient protection against the weather. However, a high IP rating does not mean weatherproof and can be more expensive than VSDs with lower IP ratings. ABB’s weatherproof solution provides a suitable enclosure to ensure that VSDs are adequately protected outdoors, enabling the use of IP55 drives. The weatherproof solution can be used with the ABB range of general purpose drives, HVAC drives, and water industry drives. A range of frame sizes is available to cover VSD variants and power ratings.

HDS switchgear series at SOLIDS 2020, specially designed for the requirements of the bulk materials industry. The Heavy Duty Switch (HDS) unites a range of functions into a single platform, making it suitable for an extremely wide range of applications. In addition, the HDS platform has a range of international approvals, including CE, UL, CCC, (EAC, ATEX, IECEx, INMETRO in progress). The basis of the new platform is the standardised


enclosure concept, which is available in two versions: plastic (Duroplast) and grey cast iron. The plastic version is resistant to aggressive media and especially suitable in port logistics applications and loading and unloading operations, as well as in the agricultural industry in the processing of fertilisers, minerals and phosphates. The robust grey cast iron version is suitable for uses including the mining of heavy metallic ores in opencast mines, bulk materials and extraction. The function range is also divided into two basic


versions: the emergency-stop, designed as a pull- wire switch, and the position monitor. The basic switch – ‘Position Control’ – can be flexibly combined with a range of actuating elements and can be used for position monitoring on moving machinery and plant parts.


An additional advantage of the HDS platform is that all basic versions have been prepared for use with an optional Dupline 2 wire bus and can be directly connected, allowing the switches to be quickly and easily connected and integrated in series. The Dupline Standard or Dupline Safety 2 wire bus is ideal for reliable signal transmission over wide distances.

Double fork busbar connector from Stäubli cuts maintenance and replacement costs

eveloped to link two high power busbars, the new double fork connector from Stäubli Electrical


Connectors has a simplified, cost-effective design that helps cuts maintenance and replacement costs. One of the forks is fastened onto the busbar by two


screws, while the other fork can accept busbars that are misaligned laterally by up to ±2 mm and with angular deviations of up to ±3°. Rated for 5,000 mating cycles, the silver plated aluminium connector is fitted with Stäubli’s MULTILAM contact technology. This allows a high current density thanks to its use of multiple spring contact elements, and ensures low contact resistance with low power losses throughout its lifetime. The space saving connector can be adapted to


customer requirements with regard to rated current and the dimensions of the busbars. Expected applications are in power distribution and


power conversion cabinets with current requirements from 100A up to several 1000A.
