CABLES & CONNECTORS  PRODUCTS

CUSTOMISE CONNECTOR COMPONENTS EASILY AND ON SHORT DELIVERY TIMES

Users can now make customised adjustments to the housings of series-produced industrial interfaces by using the Han Configurator, HARTING’s online tool for designing connectors. According to the company, cable entries can be modified and identifying letterings can be applied to hoods and housings.

The new feature can be used to design the position and number of cable

entries in line with the user’s own requirements; and even lettering applied to the housing surface can be customised. The Configurator ensures that the interface design meets the respective technical requirements and that the components used are compatible with each other. As soon as the configuration is completed, a digital record of the

solution is ready for download, and CAD data and dimensional drawings for the individual part are directly accessible. “The customising feature in the Han Configurator means we’re once

again expanding the scope for tailor-made products based on the Han portfolio. Users can use the tool to customise connector components, which allows them to find the optimal connector solution. The tool reduces the effort required to adapt to specific requirements and shortens the path from the drawing board to production,” says Timo Poggemöller, team leader digital product service at HARTING Electric.

SEALING ELEMENTS FOR MAXIMUM CABLE PACKING DENSITY

When developing the KDS-DES sealing elements for unassembled cables, CONTA-CLIP has transferred the simple cable entry principle of its KES system to its KDS cable feedthrough system: to insert a cable, the membrane of this new sealing element is first pierced at the marked centre, whereupon the cable can be pushed through the selected channel. This design ensures sealing to IP64. The KDS-DES variants currently available

accommodate up to eight cables, depending on the cable diameter, which can range from 4.5mm and 10.5mm.

MIL STANDARD CONNECTORS FOR HIGH PERFORMANCE DATA TRANSMISSION

New from ODU are 10GBit/s Ethernet inserts for its AMC High-Density connector series. Meeting the technology industry’s requirements, these robust miniature circular connectors, which meet current MIL standards, are said to ensure secure, high-performance, data transmission. In addition to applications in military and security technology, ODU

offers the ODU AMC High-Density series, which can include cable assembly, over-moulding and Flex-Layer assemblies for all demanding markets and applications. Bespoke system

solutions can also be produced in line with customer requirements.
