K boiler manufacturer Worcester Bosch has officially launched its new loyalty programme,

• Free and simple gas safe registrations when registering any Worcester Bosch boiler

Excelerate. Available for all installers, the scheme puts installers in the driving seat to help them successfully reach their business goals effectively. Following installer feedback, Excelerate makes progressing up the ‘loyalty ladder’ as seamless as possible. Installers can set their own pace along a clear and open road, collecting more and more benefits as they progress. Rewards include discounts on training, product accessories, marketing and business advice as well as transferring points onto a Worcester Bosch branded credit card to spend anywhere!

As the company continues its focus to support all installers, the programme and its benefits are open for any installer, as well as Worcester Accredited Installers. Members of their previous loyalty scheme Greenstar Rewards will also have their account and points automatically transferred across to the new scheme.

To celebrate the launch of Excelerate, the company is running a number of promotions, open to new and existing Worcester Bosch loyalty scheme users. These include:

• Double points for any installer who registers a Greenstar 8000 Style boiler between now and 31st December 2020

• Double points for all Greenstar oil boiler registrations

Victoria Billings, Director of Marketing for Worcester Bosch said; “We are incredibly excited to be launching Excelerate, our new installer loyalty programme, to the market. Like with everything we do, we have listened to feedback and created a scheme that will really help all installers progress their business at a pace and path that suits them – with lots of rewards available along the way.” Steve Moorhouse, from Cheshire-based Here4Heat said; “Worcester Bosch has helped me grow my business sustainably over the last 6 years. It’s been hard work but a lot of fun with an awful lot of help from like- minded installers from all over the UK. “If you are fitting 5 or 500 boilers, being an installer on the Excelerate scheme will benefit your business. The new loyalty scheme is completely accessible to all installers now, meaning there is nothing to lose from signing up!”

itsubishi Electric is supplying its UK manufactured Ecodan air source heat pumps to OVO Energy for two Government schemes. These aim to develop and showcase technologies that reduce the carbon emissions associated with providing heat and hot water to UK homes and buildings.

The two now re-branded OVO schemes, the ‘Zero Carbon Home Project’ and ‘Zero Carbon Heating Trial’ are funded from by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) through its Energy Innovation Programme. The two schemes see a combined Government investment of £5.8m worth of funding spread across nearly 300 sites across the UK.

Mitsubishi Electric is providing its Ultra Quiet Ecodan model which is built in Livingston, Scotland to the projects with OVO as the lead energy supplier.

“We are delighted to be taking part in a project of this scale and working with the UK’s leading independent energy supplier”, said Russell Dean, Head of Residential Heating, Mitsubishi Electric. “Domestic heating is one of the biggest areas where our carbon emissions can be cut by making a few simple changes. Combining with the network of OVO we are excited to be helping applicants reduce their carbon emissions to net-zero in this trial.”

The two trials form part of increased investment by the UK Government in renewable technology as it looks to reach its net-zero carbon emissions target by 2050. Domestic heating forms the largest single source of carbon emissions, accounting for 15% of the UK’s emissions output. This scheme aims to develop a mass-market smart electric heating product that can replace the use of traditional fossil fuel heating systems.

Jessica Tan, Managing Director, OVO Smart Home said, “Mitsubishi Electric is a well-established leader and innovator in its sector and their air source heat pumps are no exception. The trials allow us to develop alternatives to gas heating, which is a critical piece to deliver our sustainability vision under our Plan Zero - which commits to halving customers’ carbon footprints by 2030. We are excited to be leading this work with Mitsubishi Electric, to drive the technological solutions which will move us towards zero carbon living in a way that’s sustainable for our customers and the climate.” Ultra Quiet Ecodan is the market-leading air source heat pump from Mitsubishi Electric, and provides reliable, renewable heating and hot water production for a wide range of installations. With a sound pressure level of just 45 dB(A), Ultra Quiet Ecodan makes passing Permitted Development requirements much easier. Ultra Quiet Ecodan is available in 8.5kW and 11.2kW sizes. “These schemes will help to showcase sustainability in the way homes are heated and hopefully kick-start the domestic home heating revolution that is desperately needed in the UK if we are to achieve our commitment to net-zero,” concluded Dean. chneider Electric, the leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, has announced a partnership with geo (Green Energy Options), the smart home energy specialist based in Cambridge, to accelerate the UK’s journey to net zero homes. A first for both companies, the co-development brings together geo’s innovative, agile product development and data insights with Schneider’s energy management technology and extensive channel network. According to the latest Climate Change Committee (CCC) report, the UK will not meet its 2050 zero carbon goals without almost entirely eliminating greenhouse gas emissions from Britain’s 29 million homes. Developing a net zero home requires companies to collaborate to create smarter, more connected and more efficient mass market solutions. The Schneider Electric and geo partnership brings a new level of intelligence to the at-home energy management market, providing the impetus for widespread change.

“The partnership will deliver the first fully connected, comprehensive heating control system that uses the full range of smart meter data,” said Patrick Caiger- Smith, geo CEO. “While smart meters are being rolled out across the UK, we have not seen much of the data generated being used to inform home energy management. The solution developed through this partnership is truly ground- breaking, injecting data science into a major infrastructure programme to put consumers in control.”

“Our current domestic energy use makes the 2050 net zero target impossible. We need to accelerate the journey to net zero homes now,” commented Mike Hughes, Zone President UK & Ireland, Schneider Electric. “Home energy infrastructure, as a whole, needs to become smarter and provide homeowners with complete control over energy generation, consumption and storage. With this first co-development partnership, we are investing in innovation and ensuring that we’re best placed to create the net zero home. We want to work with the country’s most innovative companies and individuals to make that vision a reality.”
