I


t’s a comfort that a lot of people often have strict rules about in their


homes, depending on the month and the bill-payer’s sensitivity to draughts. Though it isn’t really surprising that the recent cooler weather has had a harder impact considering the balmy temperatures we enjoyed earlier in the summer.


This year has been one of strange extremes, which we


are again being reminded of with the latest government guidance and the threat of a second lockdown. While this is a fairly daunting prospect, I have been inspired by the ways the building services industry has risen to the Covid-19 challenge.


Health and wellbeing have become the highest priority on the list, followed by supplying the latest in healthy ideas to hospitals and health centres. The combination of a new respect for human welfare and


environmental impact that is becoming a standard in product design and engineering is fantastic.


This issue’s Heat and Power feature shows the number of companies looking into making the most of energy; while the Boiler Guide exhibits the latest in boiler technology and a bright future for warmth.
